The Gifting Thread

Post by rusty_shackleford »

Want to give away some keys or gift a game? Use this thread.
Do NOT post any keys directly in the thread. Always PM them to someone.

I'm giving away three copies of Caves of Lore on GOG(I can do Steam too if for some reason you want it there.) on Steam. Just post in this thread saying you want a copy, and if there's more than three people I'll just use a random number generator to pick. I'll give you guys three days for the three copies.
You must actually be interested in playing the game, and -- not required -- hopefully be willing to review it as the dev has been very kind to us.

If you're unsure what Caves of Lore is, check @Kalarion's review here.

Mediocre or bad games can still have parts that are good.

GOG won't let me buy gift keys because apparently I've never actually purchased anything on GOG. Strange requirement, guess they don't want my money.

Steam gifts only lads, sorry.

Rather unhappy with how difficult retailers have made getting codes to give away btw. I know there was a large market using stolen credit cards to buy them or whatever, but now it's impossible to just buy a code to give it away if the game is not on a verified third party Steam retailer.

There's plenty of Transheuser-Busch Butt Light that they're desperate to dispose of. They even have $15 rebate coupons so you get the 12 pack for free.

Anyone have any ideas how to work around this in the future?
For big name titles I can probably just buy them from a key seller like Green-Man Gaming — not to be confused with a reseller, Green Man Gaming works directly with publishers. But for smaller titles, there doesn't seem to be a way to get a serial key to give out.

Eneba is pretty good for a Slavic outfit from Lithuania.
