Should we post our mods on Nexus?
Moderator: Mod Janitor
To answer your question, I'm expecting nexus to do the same as moddingdb just for little ol merusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ February 11th, 2026, 00:09It's helpful to remember that outside of the HQ, rules aren't real.
Exhibit A: ModDB scouring someone's internet presence to find a way to stretch their rules to cover people's off-site activity

Is that allowed? Would Orin and crew be upset if someone else uploaded their mods, as long as full credit was given? If it wouldn't step on any toes, I'd be happy to do it. I like hurting the insane pervert freaks. It's fun. And productive.loregamer wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2026, 16:13I'd rather they just rehost our mods and do it themselves then have us distracted by moderating ourselves and have our motivations assumed.
Lke most people, I would rather see them get help from a qualified professional. But we don't spend money on insane asylums anymore. So instead of helping them overcome their mental illness, we have to fight them. Thems the breaks until it all collapses and gets rebuilt.

The instances where a modder owns his mod is rare. Original texture packs not based on a game's textures, original models made from scratch, etc., I'd say about 98-99% of mods are unauthorized derivative works, do what you want. Nexus permissions are ********.

This is the worst type of bugman, who believes himself above moral reproach, that he belongs to a center zone that didn't even exist on the political spectrum barely 60 years ago. Yes, bud, you are definitely not some ****** libertarian trying to get other people to fight your little ****** online war so that you can indulge hedonistically in the way you wish to.UsernameMustBeBetwee wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2026, 04:10I gave only the information for potential survival of her mods outside of this radical forum.
I suggested to remove the radical talk, change the name to "No Real-life Politics in Baldur's Gate"/"in Faerûn"/"in Forgotten Realms", and do not engage with radical/politically charged comments from the opposing to her side, nor be the source of radical speech.
I am not on "your" side, nor I am on the "opposing" side. I only found this mod interesting for removing forced real-life politics from the Forgotten Realms.
What to do next with this mod - is orin's choice, I have no control over it whatsoever.
I will not engage further. Have a good day.
It's getting real tiresome seeing these random losers trying to turn others into activists, a tactic oddly familiar to the left, the real radicals in society. If declaring basic objective truths is "radical" to you, you are likely the problem in this equation.
We don't pearl clutch around here. That said I'll probably post it myselfbennylava wrote: ↑ February 11th, 2026, 01:32Is that allowed? Getting those download counts working would really help...
One of the reasons ******** etc. are pushing their ways is because they're able to be "the only thing that exists" by censoring everything else. They then brand anything else a "fringe right wing".
Seeing just how popular anti/non woke stuff is, would put a dampener on that argument.

Looks like some mod ****** don't like Astarion's pants lmao
As per:
This looks to be "Charlie"? (Who's now been promoted to Head of Moderation, as Matthew has left).BobT wrote: ↑ February 10th, 2026, 04:56So, compared to when I last posted about this in March 2024 (above):BobT wrote: ↑ March 11th, 2024, 19:25They have hired a third (white) female now though at least.
Now they have "Customer Support Specialist", "Office Manager", and "Product Manager" ran by females. Such important board-level roles! Oh and the black dog. Such a bastion of feminism and diversity!
The only thing those "developers" are developing are new reasons to ban people for tickling their anus the wrong way.
https://www.nexusmods.com/about
The head ****** is still listed as "Founder", and his chief toadie and dog (STILL the only "diversity" besides a few new white women, this is practically the Huffington Post) are still there, so they're still involved.
Aside from one or two posts that have switched and promotions, they have a new QA and content creator team, and that's....about it. The main **** "moderator" (matthew) has now gone, but the rest are still there, as are the majority of the (tech) team.
They have a new CEO and CTO (likely who they "sold" it to), but the main team overall are still the same people. Don't expect much change, here.
Then:
Now:
26/34 of the people that were there in March 2024, are still there, lol. (Including the ******* dog).
The fact they've "sold" makes no difference when the overall team is the same.
Good lad. It's certainly progress from the "We're all about diversity" pandering. I wonder how much of it is the change in Nexus' moderation team, as opposed to the new CEO.
I wonder if Nexus took a hit last time Reddit sperged, or whether the personnel has changed just slightly enough that they're now going by law rather than virtue signalling.
Either way it's a step in the right direction that gives presence rather than supporting cancel-culture. (See what I mean about slight tweaks and getting your suit on?). It also makes ****** seethe that they're not banned outright, and I like that they called out the Reddit *****'s inaccuracies and stated they locked comments to protect Orin from abuse.
Although you're never going to get "based" stuff on there (unless Nexus moves away from the UK, or the UK govt somehow DRASTICALLY changes), you can post "Real World Issues" stuff as long as it's appropriately tagged, and doesn't "target protected characteristics". It's also good to know that they no longer consider off-site behaviour as bannable.
Probably best to keep posting full de-woke stuff here, and (where you can be bothered) some scaled-down neutral versions on Nexus to maintain public presence.
Either way, some ground was regained today. Good work @orinEsque
Well it's nice to see you don't get cancelled for simply existing.BobT wrote: ↑ February 11th, 2026, 21:03Either way, some ground was regained today. Good work @orinEsque![]()

In 2023, the controversial Baldur's Gate 3 modpack 'No Alphabets' — which removed LGBTQ+ aspects from the game — was delisted from the Nexus website, along with the infamous Ser Aylin gender swap, which was explicitly done to make her relationship with Isobel heterosexual. This modpack unfortunately continues to exist and take shape on alternate sites, but the poster was banned, and thus unable to share these creations on one of the largest modding platforms.
However, two days ago, modpack creator orinEsque made a Nexus account to post a new mod called Dignify. On the surface, it appears benign, but at its core, it's a clothing pack that updates several outfits throughout the game, including Astarion and Gale's. Though when it was first uploaded earlier this week, it was a completely different story. Originally, the mod required you to download the 'Alternate Wyll Origin Appearance', which makes him white (this isn't hosted on Nexus itself). After much backlash, the requirement — which, given the nature of the mod, made no sense to begin with — was removed, and the comments disabled.
"You Can See His Bigotry Shine Through"
Even after this update, many have noted that, while not as overt as outright removing LGBTQ+ characters or whitewashing Black companions, Dignify is still rooted in the puritanical sentiment of the 'No Alphabets' pack that made orinEsque such an infamous name in the modding community, as each adjustment to clothing covers up skin or suggestive elements, while an optional download also makes underwear permanent, thus preventing any nudity.
"If you look closer at the mod, you can see his bigotry shine through: of course women have to wear long skirts instead of pants and being modest, Astarion doesn't have any kind of shape in a very tight pant," u/Lavinia_Foxglove noted on r/BG3mods.
It's unclear why Dignify is still available considering the original requirements, especially when taking into consideration Nexus' statement on the whole debacle with the No Alphabets modpack: "We are for inclusivity, we are for diversity," it said. "If we think someone is uploading a mod on our site with the intent to deliberately be against inclusivity and/or diversity then we will take action against it."
orinEsque likewise has not been banned because of Dignify or their association with other controversial mods, which they hint at in their bio, noting that if you like their work, "you can find more" of their mods on other platforms.

This is shocking to me they would change their radical left/anti-white political slant to a stance based solely on legal enforcement... I wonder what is the goal here. Maybe they were worried more people would jump ship to other mod sites or make their own and destroy their monopoly on mod hosting

Probably lost a LOT of money and suffered reputation damage, when they persecuted Yedlike.
Now they're just going by hosted country law, which is fair enough. (Though they're probably stretching it a bit. Then again positive discrimination is a thing and people get arrested for tweets over there, so I'm not surprised they'd want to play it safe).
It does make a change to the "We're all about diversity" crap (when they're clearly not, considering they have none on their team). Maybe they could do with hiring a few Indians!

So... Orin replacing Astarion's weirdly girly faux-leather-leggings with some stylish pants is a problem... but when that other guy does the same thing, it's praised.
Same message, different messenger. People shooting the messenger they want to vilify.
Also: I've read some of the reddit thread they rage in... Holy moly, I've never seen such a cesspool of hatred and conspiracy theories. But I'm European which makes me inherently more innocent when it comes to that sort of thing I guess - and more easily horrified by those *****-scar-body-mutilation mods that are no problem to nexus. Because it's not normalized here. Maybe in the big metropolitan cities, but certainly not in the majority of small and medium town areas. I personally find that kind of mod triggering beyond belief, and there's not even an option to hide things like that.
What the hell is that DignifAI conspiracy they project your Dignify title choice on? Making the nobility of Baldur's Gate get dressed in more lavish clothing - for the sole reason that rich people would be showing off that they can afford plenty of expensive cloth - so they look like the dignitaries that they are supposed to be is a beautiful, immersion-intensifying thing. We can still dress up our Tavs and companions in NSFW thigh-revealing clothing for photo mode regardless.
I downloaded Dignify on nexus to contribute to your beloved DL counter and endorsed it too.
For such a harmless mod to catch so much flak and downright slander should be unheard of.
I wonder if a mod that makes them wear even more revealing clothing and styles that are even less fitting for noblewomen would receive the same kind of scrutiny... So... Slutify when?

For such a harmless mod to catch so much flak and downright slander should be unheard of.
I wonder if a mod that makes them wear even more revealing clothing and styles that are even less fitting for noblewomen would receive the same kind of scrutiny... So... Slutify when?. Although if you are using it for the first time, remember to put it above dignify, so RR can take higher priority. Silver made some lovely edits on some of the noblemen and women.
If I were to do a coomer mod, I'd get called an incel. There is no way to appease ******. And no one should ever try.![]()
Rules for thee but not for me essentially. I bet if Orin made a mod that gave Astarion low cut pants that showed his *** they wouldn't complain lolSeristina wrote: ↑ February 13th, 2026, 23:56...which is funny because: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/6769 has been here for a while.LemonDemonGirl wrote: ↑ February 11th, 2026, 05:16https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/21406
Looks like some mod ****** don't like Astarion's pants lmao
So... Orin replacing Astarion's weirdly girly faux-leather-leggings with some stylish pants is a problem... but when that other guy does the same thing, it's praised.

I'm not optimistic on its odds of staying up, but if you properly moderate it per @UsernameMustBeBetwee's advice, maybe it'll stay. I don't wanna do it myself since that sounds torturous
Things to note
- I would keep permissions open on the mod
- Lock the comments
- You need to reject tags that are added by angry ****** brigading your mod
- Don't link this place or direct people to HQ, as that will get you banned
Important to say that you got the authors' permission. Honestly all our stuff has open permission. (I stipulate for my mods that your can't make dp or money on it. Not sure about lore)loregamer wrote: ↑ February 14th, 2026, 15:44@bennylava If you want, you or someone else can try hosting Even Better Romance as "Straight Romances Only" or something. Here's a thumbnail for it

Previous name is better. The word "straight" will immediately go into the "violates/targets protected characteristics" argument.loregamer wrote: ↑ February 14th, 2026, 15:44@bennylava If you want, you or someone else can try hosting Even Better Romance as "Straight Romances Only" or something. Make sure everything is generic and doesn't "target" anything, and you're working with them to not violate their ToS or cause problems for them beyond a load of reaching ******. They've thrown quite an olive branch (Whatever the intentions) by posting publicly, so it's good to show that back.
Mods are mods, the content should speak for itself.
