What the hell happened. I just found out about this game and it's already dead.

This game had free publicity from Game Awards memes, so it definitely had a chance. 90k players gave it a chance. A week later 10K remained. A month later 600. It must have been a REALLY bad game.

A guy from my steam fr list had already dropped a review on it:
Pros:
Only 25gb!

Cons:
Game
I didn't make much of it, but judging by the statistics you just dropped he was dead on.

Welp, Marathon's looking like a success. Gamers deserve the industry.
25k players right now on steam where the massive majority of sales were(>70%)
looking like it won't even recoup half of its development cost
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Way under half. I have been wrecking shop trolling the steam forums for Marathon on a daily basis. For some reason, I am finding watching Marathon crash and burn (and helping it along a bit) more fun than actually playing most games. Just a reminder: for Sony's cost ($3.6 billion) to acquire Bungie plus the $300-400k in development and marketing costs for Marathon, they could have funded the development of GTA VI almost twice over. Now Sony is going to be forced to take impairment charges and write down the value of Bungie on its financial statements, completing the humiliation.
