Well, it's not a RPG, it's an action adventure akin to TW3 meets GTA.

Time limits are great. If you don't like them you are a libtard.
If you like time to be consumed by using skill points you outright take it in the ***.

I believe that's what they're going for. If you want strong perks, that comes with a literal opportunity cost.

Rood :melt:. Anyway, it looks like (duh) the deeper you get into the tree, the more "time" is required for unlocks. I screwed up and attached the images out of order with the second being a node higher in the tree than the first, but you can see that the node in the latter has two subnodes that don't require time while the former requires time for all of em.
Can't say I'm super interested in the game if it ends up being another third person action adventure but I might change my tune if it comes out that there's a bunch of replay value.

the first point you invest is meaningful, the rest are probably dumps for people who don't want to skip time

I hate this +5/10% damage BS. Want to make meaningful perks for a swordfighter? Mainly a vampire superhuman swordsman? Make something like :
  • Decapitation : If you hit humanoid enemies in the upper body, you have a chance of decapitating them. If you outlevel them, this chance is 100%.
  • Crushing blows : Stuns people that block your attack. Upgrade it to work even on shields.
  • Vampiric blade : Your sword strikes draw blood, you can drink such blood to heal.
  • (...)
  • Death Knight : The capstone. You ifnuse your sword in a Dark purple aura. It now ignores armor, yes, even the heaviest plate armor.

It's not ok to not like RPG's.

I will add, there is literally no actual RPG where you magically get skills without time passing. It just generally passes in real life, not in game, because most games ******* suck.

yeah this looks more and more like VtMB 2, that perk tree geez. And you could make so many interesting choices there which enable you to do also stuff during daylight or build a grenade like they had in the Van Hellsing movie which creates sunlight etc. percent dmg increases of so little might aswell leave perks out then.

You're getting hung up on presentation. Bloodlines 2 character progression was solely new-ability-based, the complete opposite of +%-based. This is Witcher 3-style character building. https://thewitcher3.wiki.fextralife.com/Combat Skills

witcher 3 progression wasnt much better really. But from the scale of the game size I expect something similar like VtMB 2 with Ubisoft characteristics.

It's Fallout meets Witcher 3. Nothing at all like Bloodlines 2, other than the presence of vampires and the same engine.

This is why I make videos, I HATE FANATICS, look at this specimen, literally immediately resorts to dishonest malicious comments like "you don't like rpgs" if you refuse to blindly accept the stupidity of this game consuming time by leveling up skills.

FANATICISM is truly a ******* mental disorder.

This is one of those times where realism is just getting in the way of a videogame; this is a game with time limits, consuming time by leveling up is completely abusive in this context.

Now you are forgetting something:

YOU ALREADY TRAINED, by playing the game and EARNING EXPERIENCE you already trained, that's where your character learned and putting a point in a skill tree should be THE ACHIEVEMENT not the training in itself.

In a typical RPG, killing 30 boars is not how you train Speechcraft. After killing enough enemies to level up and putting those points in the desired skill, if you look at what just happened, no it does not make sense. Levels are however, a good indicator of the passage of time, at least that's how I see it.
And in a game that does treat time as limited, why not, naturally, tie it with leveling up? You apparently have no qualms with it being used for quests, what's the hold up with using it for leveling too? Think it'll be too hard?

FANATICISM is a mental disorder period, no amount of shenanigans and what aboutisms are going to change that, you can believe in an ideal if you want, that's not being a FANATIC but simping for a ******* game that you haven't even played is the actual mental disorder that is FANATICISM.

You want to be a mentally ill FANATIC that questions nothing and just goes where he is told to go and how to behave, go ahead, be a ******* NPC then, it's not like the world isn't filled with you freaks already.

I was kind of like that when I had to commute through absolute ******** traffic every day. Saw the most outlandish ****** behavior that I swore I was in some kind of Truman show.

On an already particularly challenging day with everyone driving like their time mattered more than mine, there was a really bad slowdown on the only part of my drive that was usually smooth. Turns out a lady stopped in the middle of a roundabout. I finally got a look and she was reading a ******* newspaper in her car without a care in the world.

I laughed maniacally all the way home and I don't know how I didn't go on a murder spree. Probably because I took my anger out on strangers on the internet instead. I remember feeling like everyone who didn't think like I did was wrong and everything improper needed to be harshly condemned. I was totally out of my mind.

Idk, maybe it's just because he's brown.
