Ciri doesn't need to be a "Witcher" or pass the trials to become one. Not only she's way more powerful than your average witcher, she simply has no real need of that. All I see is them wanting to gender-swap Geralt but attempting to be more "subtle" about it. It's sad CDPR fell flat on its face after W3, lost its local talent and recruited US/Brit wokies instead.

On a serious note, how ******** is it, that your main character, for a game called "The Witcher", isn't even a ******* witcher.
(Edit) - CDPR has pointed out that Ciri has gone through the Trial of the Grasses and has become a proper witcher.
She was already a magical fighter anyway... but having her pull off the deadly trial that usually only men survive... offscreen... is definitely (((their))) way to drive Le Strong Woman point home.
That being said, as someone who places more stock in writing than gameplay, I highly enjoyed Witcher 3 and, despite all the alphabet agenda injected in it, CP2077 as well.
This trailer was not a good sign, and I will remain cautiously optimistic over this, but I still expect it to be on par with those two.
Never give devs the benefit of the doubt especially when they’re balls deep in ESG. Expect the absolute worst case scenario unless proven otherwise.
I think it needs to be said that judging pre-rendered cutscenes isn't reasonable, at least when it comes to quality of faces. Pre-rendered Geralt from the Witcher 3 trailers didn't look like his in-game model.
An even better example than Geralt would be Morrigan in Dragon Age Inquisition. In the pre-rendered trailers she looked fugly as all hell. Meanwhile her in-game model is arguably the best she's ever looked, even a decade older than in Origins and with the weird oily Inquisition skin texture.

The very first trailer for The Witcher 3 is just as different as the game itself, so take a look for yourself.
So MAYBE Ciri will look different in the game, maybe better.

This game, much like Neil Cuckmann's new fetish sim, is a product of a bygone era. Like Neil's game, this game was greenlit and in development since 2020. The very idea that something like this game, Veilguard, Concord, Unknown 9, Dustborn, and the like would ever be successful could only have been considered if the developers at the time were under the impression that their side was guaranteed to "win" and thus everything woke would have going to be celebrated and mass consumed by the normie audience regardless of its quality.
One must remember that many of these games that are about to be released like Witcher 4 and Cuckmann's barely disguised fetish sim game were greenlit around 2020. As I said before 2020 was the year that the Left thought that they had won. That they had achieved ultimate victory over the Right and that this was going to be a golden age of DEI and social justice. Also, Trump was not suppose to have survived his assassination attempt. If he didn't this years Game Awards would have been a joyous celebration. Now these studios are panicking. It is too late now for them to do course correction. The games they greenlit back in 2020 are nearly complete. They have no choice but to release the woke slop they have made and hope for the best. Expect the next 1-4 years for the games industry in the West to be rough. It is going to be a dark age for them with more layoffs and more studios being bought out by China. In the end it couldn't have happened to more deserving people.

The current writers could never conceive (pun not intended) of the idea of restoring the ability to bear children as something to strive for, even though that was Yennefer's whole thing in the books. Ciri, on the other hand, spent pretty much the entirety of her book journey trying to avoid getting knocked up.
