I used to play this game all the time, but stopped around the time they removed lights from turrets, with the justification that "military turrets would have night vision in real life", so you just walk into dark rooms and get gunned down without being able to react. Awesome. If I recall correctly, it coincided with ******** wrapping their slimy digits around the game to the point where even I as a casual player noticed it, when you started being able to change your gender at any time after character creation.

Here's a very amusing PR that is still open: Allow players to specify preferred pronouns #51102
The mental illness of "preferred pronouns" would break localization with several different languages. One of the ****** developers even said it should be a priority issue, yet this PR remains open 3 years later. Actually fixing the game to work with this is apparently more difficult than adding rainbow dildos to children's inventories.

Proving once again that deviants make games die.

Well, and Kevin, who's a dumbshit.

Been playing CTLG a bit. What's the point of the ALPHA mutation? Still seems bad compared to other mutations, performance-wise.

The sad part is that if you could remove two people, all this alphabet ****** **** could be quietly removed and literally nobody left would complain.
One of them is a HUGE problem and absolutely obsessed with his perversion.

The guy in charge is way too far up the spectrum to see what a problem this perverted degenerate nonsense is becoming.

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.

TLG is closer to the No Hope mod for item spawns. I don't know if all of the libraries and grocery stores are destroyed on purpose. It feels a bit weird that every single grocery store is destroyed while most other buildings are intact. The overmap doesn't reveal the building type of faraway buildings, even when you climb high, which is a big improvement. The Rick & Morty space pirate stuff and many other silly things are gone. The world feels much more coherent than DDA. I haven't found one identity politics item.

I'm liking this fork much more than the other forks, particularly DDA. Combat is a lot more challenging: pulping corpses taking more effort and the scarcity of resources everywhere mean you need to pick your battles. I'm not sure what she changed other than what's written in the changelog, but combat feels more impactful, and I feel more inclined to play methodically instead of holding down the tab key like in DDA after getting the combat skills up.

The atmosphere is much more coherent than the mess of Reddit cringe that is DDA. I've been playing with the megacity mod with the eternal night setting, and the world reminds me of PKD's novels.

https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/pull/85612
Summary
Interface "Remove ability to toggle map memory from the players control"

Purpose of change
Title.
It is silly that the player can turn off the map memory by hand. There is no good reason to be able to do this and only causes a problem if the player somehow sets the unbound keybind and toggles it.
This ability was useful when not using a tileset for confirming the line of sight. The essential DDA experience: ******* who think they know better removing useful features for no good reason or replacing them with broken piles of ****.
