Why would you even engage in a setting/story if it doesn't take itself seriously? Doesn't it depend on the execution, like for example The Acolyte being so hilarously bad and ******** that nobody with a brain can take it seriously, with LotR on the completely opposite side? It's a bit hard to understand your position here, exactly.
Also, you should absolutely not take part in the TT hobby, yes. It's overpriced as ****. Games/fanmovies/good books are all you need.

I'd love to hear that being implemented. But there was never an attempt in any media right?

I mean Darktide has some mentions of Low gothic and High gothic but it is only the standard old english "sayeth, thee" and other stuff.

Christ Wraight, in one of my favorite trilogies in the Black Library, had the protagonist so infuriated at an attempt at blasphemy that he slips into High Gothic:

Crowl pulled himself up to his full height at last, pointing accusingly at the caskets containing their tubes and cyclers. ‘So destroy it!’ he thundered. ‘Destroy it now! Toto en infernis! Commit it to the flame! Or every soul in this chamber will be the author of such heresy that we shall deserve to be cast into the hells our hosts already inhabit!’

They do imply that High Gothic is basically Latin, or at least a very close approximation of it, there's also plenty of examples of writing on weapons and armor, plus the names of ships and titans, that further reinforced this idea.

I always thought it was a tad lazy, personally.

Also, do real the Vaults of Terra trilogy, it's great.
