Mechwarrior 5: Clans

So is anyone working on nig-b-gone mod?
It's UE5. So, unless the devs give the public some modding tools like they did for MW5: Mercenaries, which was UE4, I don't think mods are going to come out anytime soon.

Toadman began as a work-for-hire studio, and later became a direct subsidiary of its reformed parent company, Enad Global 7.
Clan Wolf sits on Terra as of the 'current year' in Battletech. The name of the current Era is IlClan. Wolf and Jade Falcon destroyed what was left of the Republic of the Sphere while the Great Houses were otherwise distracted (save for Liao, they too were on the way to Terra, but couldn't get through the Wall). The Wolves and Jade Falcons did a good job of destroying each other on the Canadian Prairie and Wolf came out on top. They both brought the best and brightest from their Occupation Zones, leaving them mostly undefended, with both Marik and Steiner taking advantage of that. Sea Fox is also 'aquiring' every HPG transmitter they can get their hands on, essentially replacing Comstar if they ever figure out how to fix them after the Blackout.gerey wrote: ↑ September 29th, 2025, 07:14Can someone explain to me what the Clan plan for the IS was?
They were just going to fight their way to Terra, squat on it, and then hope the Great House were just going to give up the claim they have spent the past 300 years fighting over? And then what?
Were they going to try and bring each one to heel? Even if they were achieving 10-to-1 kill ratios, they would still have been drowned in IS bodies and mechs - the Successor States are used to apocalyptic loses, they've been grinding each other to dust over the past three centuries. Doesn't matter that the mechs they're fielding are museum pieces, they're still perfectly capable of killing a shiny new omnimech, all it takes is a lucky shot.

Yeah, but it took them close to 100 years to get there, and they only managed because the IS get absolutely wrecked by the FedCom Civil War, Jihad and Dark Ages, all going off one after the other.TheEmptyRoad wrote: ↑ September 30th, 2025, 02:06Clan Wolf sits on Terra as of the 'current year' in Battletech. Oh, it was arrogance pure and simple. I think it was Star Adder that was the only Clan to go “hey, ALL of us should probably go in on this thing”. The common consensus amongst most of the other Clans was that any more than 4-5 was overkill.gerey wrote: ↑ September 30th, 2025, 06:45Yeah, but it took them close to 100 years to get there, and they only managed because the IS get absolutely wrecked by the FedCom Civil War, Jihad and Dark Ages, all going off one after the other.TheEmptyRoad wrote: ↑ September 30th, 2025, 02:06Clan Wolf sits on Terra as of the 'current year' in Battletech. So it's less a Clan victory and more the Inner Sphere imploding, and the Clans being around to pick up the pieces. Mind you, I don't particularly like anything BattleTech past the Clan Invasion, and barely tolerate the FedCom Civil War.
My questions was primarily concerning their plans for Operation Revival. Most of the Clans seemingly went into the whole debacle completely ignorant about the realties on the field, how the IS fought, and just the sheer scale of the territory they were trying to claim. Resource-starved as the Clans were, and with the only real advantage being their technological edge, how exactly did they think they were going to win?
Or was it just them huffing space weed and thinking the Successor States and ComStar were going to respect their claim because Clan rules say they need to respect it?
The problem is as initially described.TheEmptyRoad wrote: ↑ September 30th, 2025, 02:06Clan Wolf sits on Terra as of the 'current year' in Battletech. The name of the current Era is IlClan. Liao's advance on Terra was stopped but it cost Wolf quite a bit. They also weren't driven back, just stopped. The latest sourcebook ends with Alaric Ward (Khan of Clan Wolf) issuing the Liberty Declaration. Essentially calling on the Great Houses to step down and for their people to rise up. We'll see how that goes, Wolf and Ward have both come across like Mary Sues for years now. I seriously doubt this new 'Star League' under Wolf will be recognized by any except the Clanner-States, and even the Rasalhague Dominion was bitterly divided on the issue, and not along Trueborn/Spheroid lines either.
That's the only logical conclusion.gerey wrote: ↑ September 30th, 2025, 06:45Or was it just them huffing space weed and thinking the Successor States and ComStar were going to respect their claim because Clan rules say they need to respect it?

Though the whole thing was badly designed and written.
Cloning? "Sibko" and other cringe slang? Duelling feudal commands in a "grand army" with a classic martial chain-of-command tradition?
WTF? This **** wouldn't happen. Militaries are NOTORIOUSLY hidebound, conservative, and resistant to change. Kerensky was the antithesis of what the Clans and the I.S. Houses stood for.
Cloning clearly fucks them up in the head somehow.
LMAO, yep.
New DLC for MW5:Mercs is out today. I will be buying it just like I have every other DLC.
