What exactly is Goyster's character named now, he's gone from Osgar to Ostgar, now he's Otgar, he'll be Jimmy by the time this adventure's over.

@Kalarion, sorry I forgot about your personal investigation. I had like 4 tabs open trying to make sure I got all the info and who had which Stats and who had the dogs and stuff like that. We can always ask around on the way to the church.
@Irenaeus, if I roll Reaction for the same interactions to help Kalarion ask around about his persons of interest and roll poorly, would that roll hinder his efforts to find the info?

That depends, I haven't written the next game post yet, but rolls have the potential of helping if they're good or hindering if they're bad - might not be anything
too serious, but there's always a risk involved.

I'm just gonna stand there all supportive-like instead of putting my foot in my mouth with my -1 CHA modifier.

It's interesting how in these rules the CHA modifier doesn't change the result that much, consider it is a -1 over a 2d6:
► Show Spoiler
I also judge the results considering the whole context of who your character is, who is he talking to, how is he talking and what is he talking. I'm considering introducing a table of reactions by NPC, if anyone is interested in that and find that would improve the calmer, talky parts of the game.

Changing gears, we should be moving to a more dungeon crawling part of the game soon, so everyone prepare for that.

No problem, the two can be integrated just fine I think. Watching Iren try to weave everyone's actions together when they don't seem to make sense on the surface is really fun :D

Is it possible to make a character for next chapter or the story is more or less panned now?

You can make a new character in the middle of this chapter, you'll just go along. People have left, the door is always open.

Tillomar sits a little more upright in his chair, watching the others talk and eat.

"I feel almost as though I was in a dream, you'll forgive my absent mindedness, I trust?"

He readjusts the axe tucked in his belt, and returns to quietly listening to Olwin speak with the gathered men.

Hey, TKVNC ! Adding these details to the partitioned game post. No need for apologies, we all have life getting in the way of long form gaming. It's inevitable. Let's keep going as best we can.

I'm editing the closing part from yesterday right now, to be sent following your post.

I just posted another part of this large game post, with much of the action still missing. Hopefully tomorrow we can wrap up these disparate threads and unify the party into a single objective. Hope you guys are having fun reading as much as I have writing. :P

Alright, if you're going to split the party that far, I'm going to open the next Chapter with two separate game threads.

Only temporarily. It's on you for giving us a side quest to abort a rat fetus or whatever. Who the hell wants that in their backpack anyway?

I dig the map though.

It's not an issue, it's actually very interesting if you want to leave the town and have an wilderness adventure instead of a dungeon delving adventure under the town. You are three already (You, Humbaba and Oyster). The rest can proceed as planned going under the church.

PS: I saw you posting about the Hunter's Lodge, but the only way across the new province is through the Wolf's Maw which is a pass in the mountains. Check the map again - it isn't clear but it's a full mountain range extending hundreds of kilometers to the south. There are undiscovered passes for sure, but it would be an even wilder exploration and certainly even more dangerous with high risk of getting lost unless you have a great tracker and supplies.

Heavenly: The Seraph of Discord (8)
Earthly: Withered Tree (6)
Mortal: The Drunken Brother (7)
Total: 21 — a sacred number. He's still lucky, but how to read the cards?
Well, that's easy.

Did you base it off the tarot deck?
Do cards change meaning/names when they get assigned to different spheres? e.g. 7 of hearts / cups is "Drunken brother" when Mortal and something else when Heavenly. Or do I overthink here?

Haha Nice that you got interested in the game I made up. The deck has 36 cards with 12 different cards for each Domain (Heavenly/Earthly/Mortal), and the game is drawing 3 random cards and summing up the total number and seeing if it's sacred or not. You can make up your own rules and meaning for the game, it's yours now.

It was only relevant to the game to show you your character is still lucky: He began the game with Luck 18 and was cursed by Mad Orla which reduced his Luck by 1, from 18 to 17, still an incredibly high number.

So Felix IS still cursed! That hag isn't gonna see her next social security payment!

I've dramatized in character reaction a bit, because 18->17 should lower the modifier from +3 to +2. 33% decrease in Felix's eyes! (no offense personally)
