Gonna finish Mass Effect on my New Computer with Windows on it. Haven’t abandoned LINUX or anything but I’ve literally never used it before and trying to get games like Mass Effect that require a PrOPriEtARy Launcher to run correctly with no lag or long load times is beyond my current ability.

their love might be less pure, considering that they can stomach the ****** remaster.
The remaster is so utterly shite I wish every person responsible got impaled by the huskifying pole. They wouldn't even notice a difference afterwards. ******* monsters.

OK, so what I've gathered is that I need to run MELE through Steam to get the ModManager to work properly(Edit: On Nobara Linux), because otherwise it says, I kid you not "You do not have Origin installed" because instead of running LE1 through EA's insipid launcher it goes directly to Mass Effect 1's executable, which 'needs origin'. I hope the Saudi's behead whoever at EA is behind anti-gamer and anti-modding **** like this.

I had no issues with modding on Linux, but I refuse to have an EA account.

This said, MELE is a travesty. I can't play the OG without rebuying because it was on my now deleted EA acc. :rip:

LE1 is weirdly uncanny at points, even modded with things like MELLO.

How come? I've only played the original. Can't play LE as the ******* launcher(!) wants W10.

Decided to do a couple of hours of Mass Effect today.
Ended up playing for 6 hours straight and finished a bunch of side quests.
► 2 screenshots
High level Infiltrator makes it so the pistol skill cooldown takes the exact amount of time it's active. So, you can activate it as soon as it runs out and use it forever.
@J1M's 24 build is going to be pretty fun to play if anyone wants to try it out. The pistols just melt everything.

What the hell is that 2nd screenshot? There's a minigame in the game?

Also did the entire Pinnacle Station. Got the swanky apartment. It's pretty comfy, even though it's cobbled together from the existing assets.

Was sitting in a corner spraying Geth with my pistol. Got bored 9 minutes in. It took the Get another 2,5 minutes to actually kill Shepard.

The original Mass Effect 1 had a DLC called Pinnacle Station. It's a combat simulator with leaderboards for different missions. This is the leaderboard for the Tropical Survival mission where waves of Geth try to kill you and you have to hold out before being killed.
With the right positioning you can get enough cover to funnel all the Geth through a single opening, where you just spray and pray for 10 minutes without getting downed even once.

Gibbe my *** badge.
Was about to abort the run during Ilos. Because for some reason when you sprint and spam F5 (and the game won't even save) it can crash. @logincrash reminded me of myself when I was 11 and did nothing except replay ME and New Vegas a billion times each year, so I got the urge to finish it. Thank you, buddy.

Completed some major sidequests + the X57 DLC. Would finish at level 50 at the very least if I went to do that geth questline for Tali, but screw that. Probably shouldn't have played on the Veteran difficulty, since it makes the experience more miserable and just turns everyone into bulletsponges. Also most probably should have played Adept and spam Singularity.
Went with the OG version instead of the remaster, of course. Put the game audio at 8% and blasted a bunch of metalcore records to fully immerse myself into that "late 2000s" atmosphere. At least, that's what I would do if I was 14 when the game came out, I imagine.

Sorry for not having a lot to say about the game. It's still as enjoyable as it was 17 years ago. That end credits song still makes me wish there were no sequels at all.

I think Noveria is my favourite planet in Mass Effect 1. I love Port Hanshan, its look and ambience, the corpo machinations.

I love the Mako section and the way Peak 15 first gets revealed as you round the corner. It's kino.
And then you have to actually play through Peak 15 and it's a slog. What a rollercoaster.
The Benezia boss fight is the easiest in the game. The Asari Matriarchs and the Asari commandos are so hyped up in the lore, and the fight is a joke. Your squad of three just wrecks everything while Benezia's panting and gassing out for no reason. You can even Lift her with biotics - it's hilarious.
Then went to recruit Liara. She's all loopy and hallucinating.
I love this camera angle. It looks so goofy in motion.
they see me roling.jpg
The fight was incredibly easy this time. You should take Kaidan with you because he has Neural Shock that stuns any organic target for 1-5 seconds. The Krogan Battlemaster didn't even have the opportunity to activate his biotics because he was stunned and then hit by my other ability that prevents use of biotics/tech. He then got shot up with toxic bullets that disable regeneration. Poor ******* didn't even manage to fire a single shot.

Also, if you visit the Citadel and go to the Embassies after every major mission, Udina will be there to comment on it. He's very happy if you save the Feros colony and kill the Rachni queen.

Noveria was way cooler than I remembered it. That and the Citadel must have been my favorite environments in the game. Feros was kinda lame too so they stand out even more.
