@MrTwinkls I'll agree that it's not slices like VTMB or similar, which is even better. I don't like abstract representations of game worlds in RPGs. I'd rather prefer a same-size to-scale representation slice than "this 4 building area is actually meant to be a town"

Funny thing is this is exactly how I felt about areas in OW2. They are too small to properly explore and don't feel like a proper settlement but too big and empty to be a comfy hub location which often have this feel of a slice of a bigger world beyond.

I don't think I've seen a single straight couple yet.

I don't recall seeing any of those either. As I stated prior, the game is just weirdly entirely desexed. It's a good example of a modern corporate media product trying to be as inoffensive as possible. The characters don't even have a gender, everyone is weirdly androgynous.

I mentioned the two **** in the refugee camp. And there was a chick trying to blow up the electric tower on the first planet. She had a wife.
Those are two just off the top of my head.
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."

Finished the game.
First planet sucked and starting from the second one to my surprise it got a bit more enjoyable as an exploration rpg.
Most quests, characters and companions are completely forgettable or annoying.
It felt like the game initially had a Protectorate route which was cut for some reason and it's a shame because this faction's remaining lore and the fate of sovereign’s family were the most interesting part of the story (they also felt most human among all other one dimensional characters and reminded me about the last Russian Emperor and his family). The main quest was okay too but felt rushed because there is no epilogue - after the last boss it just ends with a few short slides.
Edit: I just realized that this was the only straight couple in the entire game as far as I remember.

Why is this always happening when I don't wait at least a few years to play a recently released videogame ffs.

It's less woke than fnv
Kind of. In FNV there are also black/women characters in positions of power, openly lesbian/gay chars, over the top corp policies in terminals etc.

I assume Obsidian devs openly being political on social media (that spattle with Elon Musk) combined with their ***** coded artstyle and ****** companions killed this game and Avowed. Shame bc their gameplay isn't bad. Unfortunately, going by Tim Cains video about "ugly characters" on Youtube , it appears they learned nothing. At the very least they should introduce hiring custom created mercs like POE.

I thought the game bombed and they cancelled all the potential DLCs.

You might be thinking of one of the 20 other bombs from the past year or two

No sequel, but they're committed to releasing all the DLC which was available via pre-order. It's Avowed that had no DLC and skipped straight to sequel development.
