Halsin is bisexual, he talks about his bisexual underdark adventures.
Shadowheart can count as straight, but there's no proof either way, and this game lets women romance her. I would just leave her out of the infographic.
Shadowheart - no data
Gale - straight (due to Mystra.)
Wyll - no data
Halsin - bisexual
Astarion - gay (Sebastian)
Karlach - no data (? i know nothing about her)
Jaheira - straight as an arrow
Minsc - no data (straight assumed, but not putting it in the infographic because its not explicit)

Victors clap when others succeed; Losers feel every spotlight as a personal bleed.
Shadowheart's parents.
A woman visiting her husband's grave in BG.
Wyll is known to be smitten by the ... do not remember which of the noble woman was it but it's in one of the dialogues.
Can we count the automaton and the Underdark Mage tower?

It would probably make your infographic strongest to be as generous as you can in counting "straight couples" since the ratio will still obviously favor abnormal ones even if a few questionable instances get put into the "straight" category.
Yes I'm using a set of rules that will apply to both straight and gay couples, otherwise it wouldn't be very scientific.WhiteShark wrote: β December 4th, 2024, 03:11It would probably make your infographic strongest to be as generous as you can in counting "straight couples" since the ratio will still obviously favor abnormal ones even if a few questionable instances get put into the "straight" category.
So these are the rules:
1. Disqualified: if somebody is mentioned as a wife or husband or lover, but the gender of their partner is not mentioned
2. Disqualified: being a father or a mother doesn't count, since we've seen with the gay gnomes that larian has allowed gay couples to adopt in 1480s
3. Flavour Text: If a couple is mentioned (even a passing mention) in a single flavour text, and neither appear in-game, they are counted as 1 entry. (because in NA we remove gay ones)
4. Ingame + Flavour Text: If Ingame character mentions a partner by name, they will be included as two separate entries. Otherwise unnamed partner won't get another entry.
5. Lovers mentioned in statue plaques count.
6. Lovers mentioned in graves count.

She says she loved Gortash in the past. Dunno if this relevant to your research, but still.
I've never seen this line myself in the game (I always cut her head off), but I found it in "WYR_GortashConfrontation_SoulConsumption" file:
Karlach: All of it, so I could rot. Because the person I trusted - I loved that ******* animal - gave me away to the devil.
Btw, since I just lurk here, I never had a chance to thank you for your hard work. You are very inspiring.
Btw, Minsc for two games was taking care of "witches" (first Dynaheir, then Aerie). He never ever expressed any interest in the same sex but his care for witches was not sexual either - he served and protected them. How do you call that? Asexual?

I'd say Minsc is nonsexual due to mental impairment, he's not capable of understanding it.

Noooo Minsc isn't asexual, he's easily beguiled by pretty ladies, even if they're evil (Viconia).PixiGreen wrote: β December 4th, 2024, 10:46Btw, Minsc for two games was taking care of "witches" (first Dynaheir, then Aerie). He had a head injury that makes him too child like for writers to consider putting him into some relationship. And honestly not everyone's sexuality need to be fleshed out.

As this might be interpreted as a joke: I can't remember if this is brought up in BG3, but yes, he's mentally impaired. He suffered severe blows to his head that changed him, along with losing his grip on reality after Dynaheir died.rusty_shackleford wrote: β December 4th, 2024, 10:48I'd say Minsc is nonsexual due to mental impairment, he's not capable of understanding it.
It's in his biography in Baldur's Gate:
BG2:When asked about his past, MINSC proudly announces that he is a berserker warrior from the nation of Rasheman in the utter east. He is currently undertaking his dejemma, a ritual journey to manhood, and is seeking adventure and glory in battle. It is also his honor to be the bodyguard of a young Wychalarn of Rasheman named Dynaheir, and if anyone tries to harm her he will beat sense into their heads until they reconsider. He is unsure as to why she has led them to the Sword Coast, but his loyalty is unquestioning. If he serves her well and distinguishes himself in battle he hopes to be accepted into the Ice Dragon berserker lodge upon return to their homeland. So far Minsc considers his most notable experience in the world abroad to be the acquisition of his animal companion 'Boo,' a creature that he claims is a miniature giant space hamster. Apparently such things do exist in the Realms, but Minsc has surely taken too many blows to the head. He seems a good-natured fellow, but is all too willing to indulge his berserker nature.
When asked about his past, MINSC proclaims that he is a berserker warrior from the nation of Rashemen in the utter east, though his affinity for animals speaks to his skill as a ranger as well. He originally came to the Sword Coast on a dejemma, a ritual journey to manhood, as the bodyguard of a young Wychalarn of Rasheman named Dynaheir. To his shame, Dynaheir is now dead, and he fears that the doors of the honored Ice Dragon Berserker Lodge are forever closed to him. This personal tragedy has obviously not strengthened Minsc's hold on reality, as evidenced by his continued dependence on his animal companion 'Boo', a creature that he claims is a miniature giant space hamster. Apparently such things do exist somewhere in the Realms, but Minsc has surely taken too many blows to the head.

Regardless of his mental state I'd go with "Minsc is straight". I played through BG1 and 2 and not once have I noticed anything suggesting otherwise. He doesn't ever consider a possibility where a male mage could become "his witch" after Dynaheir dies. Also he is apparently based on a certain character from another era:
tl;dr - Minsc is awesome, do not besmirch my childhood in-vidyagame buddy
I doubt a character from that period of time would dare to be anything but hetero."Minsc originates from pen-and-paper sessions held by Baldur's Gate's lead designer James Ohlen, and the roster of players included current giants in the RPG industry. He was conceived and played by Cameron Tofer"
tl;dr - Minsc is awesome, do not besmirch my childhood in-vidyagame buddy
Remember we aren't talking about who is/ isn't straight.
But NPCs whose husband/wife/lover are explicitly mentioned or shown in the game, or is a ******.

not sure if this counts due to the obvious exploitation but "True Love's Embrace" comes with a "Husband's diary" and explicitly references a wife

I do not know if you would count Stoney and Boney from the Circus of the Last Days in Act 3.
While Boney is quite obliviously male, and he refers to Stoney as his wife, it's kind of hard to tell what she actually is.
(She is a Mud Elemental).

Greetings, normal people. I should warn you that I use a translator, so English may not be perfect.
I've been wanting to play a game with this wonderful mod for a long time. But I ran into a problem, namely, my mod manager is not working. I tried to solve this problem in different ways, and nothing helped.
In the end, I tried to install the mod by simply putting all the necessary files in the mods folder. After that, I activated them inside the game in the Larian mod manager. I tried downloading old saves to test the robotability of the mod, and surprisingly, everything was fine. At least at first glance. Sebastian became a woman, and Aylin became a man, as it should be. There was also nothing wrong with the voice.
But above, orinEsque wrote that you should use a unofficial mod manager to install the mod. I want to start the game in honour mode, and I would not like to have problems in the future that could ruin the save.
So, are there any reasons why you don't recommend using the Larian mod manager? What problems can I face? Should I stop using the mod if there is no option to use a unofficial mod manager?

Because No Alphabets only makes changes to non player characters and doesn't add scripts or items, you can remove the mods at any time. So it won't break your game on honor mode. If in doubt, you can always back up your save.RomulusVII wrote: β December 6th, 2024, 14:23Greetings, normal people. I should warn you that I use a translator, so English may not be perfect.

Problems arise when you combine dropping mods in the mods folder and use the unofficial mod manager at the same time.
1. Some people reported crashing at a crucial scene, which they only got past by removing the mods.
2. Another had a very creepy looking Ser Aylin with his head all over the place. Basically the mod was only half working.
The way to fix that is to remove everything from your mods folder and reinstalling query mod manager.
3. You will have trouble customising other mods like wylls of toril without a mod manager.
But I actually made no alphabets in a way that you should not be a mod manager. So if you are using this method, do not attempt to use the unofficial mod manager at all.
Your comment was very understandable.
Hope you can translate this easily, too. Enjoy.

Thank you, good Samaritan for removing this scourge upon our planet! I mean, men kissing?? What?? TRAINS woman???? Huh??? Won't somebody think of the children????? This game is such a step down from the ET game on the Atari, which is my all-time favorite game. Larian needs to stope woekness!!! I mean, look where all of this inclusivity got them! 33 game awards for BG3!! Let's stop pandering to the woek mob and begin pandering to the people that really need it: White Cisgender Heterosexual Men. The reign of transgenderism is OVER!!! The oppressed minority of white men needs to rise up!!!

GOOD point!
