[ 3rd Quarter ]
Following the non-faggotry laced halftime show... both teams head out onto the field with fresh legs as White Shark gets set to kick off to the visiting Gunners to start the 3rd Quarter. Booting it off to the Gunners they go down at their 36 yl as Atlan Tico gets in a swat at their 34. They get held for 4th down at their 44 yl with Roguey "The Stealthy" making a swat of his own as they have to punt it off back to us. Oyster Sauce takes a touchback as the ball goes into our end zone putting us on our 20 yl. Cipher "The Maverick" is 4 man covered this time as the Gunners drop assignments and run to him as he fails to get the ball into his hands just as the toss is about to be made. Theya re not letting him be open very long as they keep him locked down and grounded still... Vergil "The Vampire" is able to make it to our 35 yl for a 1st down with another gain to our 41 by Nemesis "The Skull" before we have to send it back as well.

Vegas is held in turn as the boys keep them locked down to their 33 yl forcing them to send it back shortly after... Oyster Sauce gets the punt back to our 37 yl with "The Juice" a citrus-souring hustle to the LV 46 for a 1st down as the crowd comes to life again as the big man is finally found and let loose for a proper run. Stacko Turtles keeps the crowd going getting to the LV 38. Bing Lim is swatted but Vergil "The Vampire" and Cipher "The Maverick" get in a couple short ones to the LV 34 and LV 29 as Cipher expresses some frustration at the lack of production as the Gunners have the anti-air eyes on him still with tosses to him barely making it through when they do... Vegas holds us there though... as White Shark has to put up 3 to end the drive as we can't get a TD in. It barely makes it over the horizontal bar as some Gunner fingers appear to have gotten on it but we'll take it as we get ready to send it back. 19-10 HQ.

Vegas can't get past the HQ 49 as we hold them yet again for a 4th down punt as Lord Rumbles and Roguey "The Stealthy" get in a couple swats as they've been busy this game doing everything they can to get hands in front of passes. Getting the ball back Oyster Sauce gets to our 21 yl with Nemesis "The Skull" to our 29 as he finds a rare seam up mid once more. Vergil "The Vampire" refreshes the 1st down at the HQ 31...but disaster strikes... Nemesis "The Skull's chug through mid results in a FUMBLE as a Gunner got a solid punch in to knock it loose and it's a massive pile up to get hands on it...

Las Vegas recovers it on our 34...ffs. They keep the crowd quieted down as they push up to our 30 and 25 & inches. They opt not to 'go for it' though and just put 3 up instead to end the drive, getting something at least out of the fortunate recovery...

Getting it back with 1:52 to go now in the 3rd, we take a touchback putting us on our 20 yl. Stacko gets in a short one to our 23 and Cipher "The Maverick" snags a fast one but is short of 4th down as it's inches from the refresh and we have to send it back... Vegas gets to their 49 on the punt back with Breath "The Undying" a near 2nd interception as he almost gets the hands around the ball. They are able to push over center field though to our 46 yl with a nice toss up right to our 31 and 23 for a 1st down as they are closing in...Getting to our 23 yl and again to our 6 it feels like one is coming here with under 20 secs to go.

QB Farlow finds a Gunner just up right as he slips past the D and into the end zone for a touchdown... the extra is good as they take the lead going into the 4th quarter running the clock down to the last second before the toss...

[ 4th Quarter ]
Coming out to the 4th quarter the pressure is on now as we're finally trailing. The kick back is a touchback to our 20 yl. Solong "The Lobber" tries to find Bing Lim but it's deflected and the following tosses to Stacko Turtles and "The Juice" also go uncaught as disaster strikes again... Interception...at the HQ 41. The toss to Maiden Haver is picked off as the Gunners get it back. The mood in the Star Dome shifts as the crowd's anxiety can be felt as the Gunners get to HQ 31. An injury occurs as Breath "The Undying" gets in a solid tackle on the Vegas runner as he's helped off field favoring his shoulder and neck area.

They get in a 1 yard push through mid to our 11 yl, with QB Farlow under pressure making a failed toss and The Gunners taking another injury as a FB is taken down with a rib injury... but the following play they won't be denied as it's a touchdown...

The extra point is good as we get set to get it back. Element goes down at our 23 yl with Solong "The Lobber" finding Vergil "The Vampire" for a HUGE run to the LV 48 as the crowd is starting to get back into it. Maiden Haver gets a 1st down at the LV 31 as we are able to push up to the LV 27 and 23 before being held for 4th down.

White Shark gets the 3 pts up to get us a little closer as time is winding down now with under 6:00 mins to go making it 27-22. Vegas gets the kick back going down at their 33 yl but Spell Sword suffers an injury on the play as he lands awkwardly on his arm making the stop. Red Seven gets in a stop and Brother Michael a tackle to stop another Rush attempt as The Gunners get a 1st down refresher to their 44 yl. They are pushed back by Bertram to their 47 but they persist and get to our 41 yl as Lord Rumbles makes another pass swat to stop a long bomb from QB Farlow.

Vegas keeps the momentum going though... getting that 1st down yet again to our 24 yl and 20 as they are closing in again as the crowd and HQ players are starting to feel the 'end' coming... Atlan Tico swats away yet another QB Farlow bullet after they get to our 15 yl and are held for 4th down. They get the kicker out for 3 pts...

...and it's good as they move further out of reach with under 2:00 mins to go as they run the clock between plays effectively. Element "The Watchman" gets to our 23 yl with Stacko Turtles a 1st down to our 38 as we keep trying to push down field to try for a touchdown and 2pt conversion to tie it up. Maiden Haver gets us to the LV 34 on a heart pounding run before we're held for 4th down...

We have no other choice but to go for it...no field goal will do, we need a touchdown and 2 pointer here to tie it up. Taking a time out to rest up for a precious minute the boys are tense and we go over a possible fake out play for a toss to "The Juice" as Cipher "The Maverick" collapses and goes to cover "The Juice" with Maiden Haver and Stacko Turtles rushing to get in front of him to provide a wall and some blocks to get "The Juice" to the 1st down... as the timeout comes to an end the boys head out as the crowd is on their feet, with many not able to look or shielding their eyes through fingers on face... The snap is made to Solong "The Lobber" and he fakes a hand off to Oyster Sauce and drifts left... he pivots and adjusts aim to "The Juice" as Cipher, Stacko and Maiden break position and rush to get in front of him... "The Juice" catches it and the 3 man wall is up in front of him as the Gunners lock up shortly after and do everything they can to get around the guys as a wall of bodies come together with "The Juice" going down...just shy of the 1st down...****....... Las Vegas starts to celebrate as it's a turnover on downs. The defeat is set in as QB Farlow just runs the clock and makes short safe plays as the fans are in disappointment. A number of the HQ players are 1 knee down and helmets off at the bench, leaning over... hands on knees and pacing around with some heads low as the clock strikes 0...

MVP for the game was HB #8 Carrol Tunsil with 6 receptions, 42 yards and 12 being his longest...

Some players linger around as the Gunners are celebrating on the field and their sideline. When the trophy is announced to be awarded they head back not wanting to even see it let alone watch the Gunners get their hands on it. Heading back through our tunnel some players console the younger fans near the tunnel and stands who are in tears as they get some taps and hand shakes before heading off into the darkness of the tunnel, to pack away the gear for the season and head back to families. That's all she wrote boys. Tried my hardest all season and we made it as far as we could. Was a good run but it wasn't meant to be. Hard to ace 3 in a row in a hardcore run with no retries...
This will give me some time to pack and prep for a place with my brother and get in some JAG titles finally as this won't be weighing on my mind now at least. Hope you enjoyed it despite my delayed uploads of results, can't help work bs but I'd like to keep this going until we win it. Who knows how long it will take or how long I'll be willing to do it but it was fun regardless. We'll have to wait until the Spring to see if we "Go Agane"...
