It was only when "diversity" trampled all over the white things while the black things all turned out to be gay or buck broken that stuff became unenjoyable.

Fight for New York was a **** fine game. I used to never care about the races of characters in games because they tended to be properly portrayed and had some authenticity to them. If you had blacks it was going to be some thug **** like GTA San Andreas, or maybe you had a chill/funny/lazy negro sidekick with some good lines which was a character archetype that I always found fun. It was only when they started giving black characters whitewashed, corporate-approved personalities that are completely unrealistic and serve not to entertain but rather to "inform" the player of how members of certain races should be viewed that it became so tiresome. And the replacement of predominantly male characters with minority female girlbosses did no favors. We basically went from having a chill black bro riding shotgun with you smoking blunts and doing drivebys and getting into crazy jams for you to bail him out of, to having some screeching woman nagging you to get to the next map checkpoint and continue on with the main quest.

It's interesting how much the point of view of the game changed from the first one. Outer Worlds 1 was "All capitalism bad, m'kay" and Outer Worlds 2 is "Communism is worse on every level and only literally ******** people can believe in it."
I've been perusing reddit to find answers to minor questions that ChatGPT wasn't able to answer due to how new the game is. They do every mental gymnastics trick in the book to avoid saying that the bad guys are communists. They just claim that "the Protectorate faction is theocratic fascism and is clearly based on the Nazis."
They literally act like the NPCs in this game who go "I was devastated that my house got destroyed in the flood, but then the (mandatory) radio told me that I feel happy and, you know, turns out that I'm very happy."
The game still has too many *******. There's way too many women soldiers and all of them are competent badasses while the men are all either cowards or get injured first.
There's also an audio log of some chick who says she misses her wife and how she wants to be with her in the afterlife in the very first town. So, I guess the "no ****" claim about the game is deboonked.

There's entire feuds about them wanting to go back to working on communes, having state-assigned jobs, etc., Anyone who thinks they're nazis is a communist high on copium.
Treating your leader like a religious figure is also what many communist regimes did, not nazism, as nazism never sought to abolish Christianity beyond their disdain for the catholic church.
