Dark Souls 2 is better then Elden RIng.
DA1 > DA2 > DA3 > Elden Ring

I'm yet to play Armored Core VI, but I will once I cease the tomfoolery of my hospital debt.

I'm pandering what ending to do. On my 1st I did the Age of Star, which was fine, although it had a woman in it.

I'm now pandering the Chaos ending, although I'm discouraged, because it reads pretty communist. The alternative is the dung ending, and it is my primary choice now.

I'm almost done with Atlus Plateau prior to crossing the city walls. I'm down to Sainted Hero's Grave.

I haven't done the Golden Lineage Evergaol or the Full Grown Beast boss fight. 4 more areas to go (Royal Capital, snowy area, Miquella's Haligtree and then Farum Azula). I think there may be 1 more underground area too...? I haven't gotten to the castle of the blood lord, but I killed the white masked guy, so maybe I've ****** up, as in this game many areas are locked behind NPCs, which I find ridiculously stupid. I hope they reflect after Elden Ring and don't double down on the bad designs they've made.

The game is deceptively long. Just as you may think you've made it to the end, there's more and more content.

No, I don't have the DLC. No, I've no intent of buying it.

disliking Elden Ring is pretty much a mainstream opinion at this point.

If you said the game was poorly designed at release you'd just get told to 'git gud' (game was designed around you using a walkthrough/guide to cheese it)

The only good comment was somebody saying the game should have been 40% the size it was.

If a game has such an expansive "toolset," that bosses can't possibly be designed with an answer for them all, so instead their movesets are just flailing around like a drowning ******, then the difficulty's artificial. Boss phases need to be a response to the weapons I'm bringing, not me chipping a UI graphic past an imaginary line. Playing Elden Ring was slipping through the rules was just a boring grind.

I've stated it before but this passive, reactive play style is GAY and FEMININE. These games are sissy hypno simulators meant to turn impressionable young sensitive men into sissies by teaching them to only react, never act.

Nips don't comprehend real-time. Even in real-time action games, they're designing turn based combat.

Did bosses react to your hits in demon souls? I'm pretty sure they didn't as far back as dark souls. It's a major issue with these games altogether

Corridor design also has empty tedious filler areas, they're just easier to reach. Hell, a lot of players would argue everything between the bosses is filler, not that I agree. Love me open world, love me exploration and secrets. I understand the quality over quantity argument, but Elden Ring's open world content, although there are unrewarding areas, felt satisfying enough. Haven't played Erdtree though.

Maybe a hot take but Erdtree has a superior open world over the base game. It did a much better job of cordoning off areas via natural barriers. It felt good when you finally figured out how to access areas you could only see before. It still wastes your time with nontent though so make of that what you will.

let's hear about "linear open worlds", "small-scale open worlds", "closed open worlds", "non-open open worlds", etc.
