galciv 1 and 2 were so incredibly boring, doubt this one is any better

i like it boring. i use 1 save file on gal civ 2 that takes like 4 minutes to load cause i play it as sandbox trying to keep all the ******** races alive like kind of preservation park forever.

Played a game of Gal Civ and I say this game is surprisingly...GOOD? My expectations were very low due to Galciv 3 being a super meh game, but most of the changes in 4 were in the right direction. To name a few:

• Combat no longer follows the old moronic one defense-per-attack system. Defenses now work against everything. No more tedious guessing what the AI weapons will be.
• Colony/core and starbase sponsorship are MUCH clearer now
• Species customization
• Less generic tech tree

OTOH I dislike linear tech trees, adding stats to every single citizen is dumb mistake and the new substream system is just...meh. Overall I would say this game does more right than wrong and is a huge step up from previous entries. I recommend you ******* at least give it a try.
