We have a Steam curator now. You should be following it. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44994899-RPGHQ/

Given how hard discoverability is today, shouldn't devs start talking on forums again?

For discussing role-playing video games, you know, the ones with combat.

Only because they got bought out. KCD1 was hardly from a AAA studio. KCD1 has a 10% completion rate. Huge sale numbers over 7 years due to bargain basement prices, but few people took the game to completion because it's niche. Slow pace, combat that isn't flashy, no magic or fantasy elements, etc. It's not something has mass appeal. KCD2 is just a prettier version of the same game with a crappier main quest and a bigger world with less to explore.

Are there any game devs who were stupid enough to move all the marketing to bluesky and boycott xitter aka shouting into the void?
I don't think they moved all of their marketing there, but on top of my mind the devs of Darkest Dungeon did move to blueshit, as well as the devs of Ultrakill. Star sector devs too.

I put all their future games in the "permanently ignore list" because of that.

The average gamedev Discord post gets more ****** flag reacts than we have users. If they wanted a forum with reach, they'd just use Resetera or do a Reddit AMA (which they already do). Plenty of devs have posted on RPGCodex many moons ago, but none stick around on the ******-saying forum for obvious reasons.
Also, a few devs have posted here and their threads aren't exactly popular.
@Galdred game looked pretty good.
