This one looks really interesting. Happy to see that the fantasy tone is a bit more grounded and it's not the usual ultra-giga fantasy setting that we seem to be offered with every other release. Keeping a close eye on this one.

I played it for like 10hours but it seems rather unpolished once you enter the city especially. Seems they overdid the scale of what they could fill with interesting stuff. City is way too big and also its own loading zone, too many filler npcs without a name. Progression is way too slow. Archery and fishing are useless at the beginning. You have to spend massiv amounts of money just to get recipes to craft. Worst of all I havent even found a map and journal directions are also pretty bad. You need to specc like 7 points in the beginning just in dexterity to be able to climb certain plant vines. Didnt even get a cheat engine table to run to be able to test more. Also there should be way more easy monsters you can kill for xp at the beginning or otw to the city. But even with a 2h I found I only do like 10% dmg to some of the bug enemies which arent the weaker version. If guards help you only get like 10% of the xp.... only managed to get to lvl 4 while killing pretty much everything otw to the city. Problem is also like in gothic you cant do **** at the beginning, no lockpicking, crafting, not much worth to steal either and the survival mechanics are also annoying if you dont pay like 50g to sleep now and then you get a 10% or 30% melee dmg debuff... At least in gothic the scale of the city was smaller and getting started as an apprentice somewhere was pretty easy to do. And for some of the generic board quests where you turn in items to them they need they dont even ask you to make sure you even want to sell them. Put it seems you get at least a little xp from stealing in this.

Yeah maybe I will give it a chance in 3+ years again.

tried my luck again today a few hours even with debug mod cheat and like 40 every stat and a 1 legendary self crafted weapon 20 in armor and a few early level perks you still get easiely killed by skelleton undeads if more than 1 comes which give like 100xp...especially the rapier guys remember me from the early gothic3 pigs they attack so fast that they often just stunlock you to death.... lockpicking is the worst tho even with 99 lockpicks I cant open some chests, at least in gothic you can do trial and error and remember the combination here its random and you cant even be sure which direction allegely you go by 2 different sounds but that didnt work for me really. Also some areas are too densly packed with skelleton mobs. The whole stamina blocking system also sucks. Skelleton mobs which can block and parry and so often in packs.... while range combat sucks really hard. And no spell scrolls either... the balance is so bad in this game. Even with a 2h hammer they can easiely block and the attacks are way too slow and they walk backwards that you cant really deplete their stamina to do reliable dmg.

Well I was tired of aimlessly running through the city without a map, could not find the 4 guys I should find for the knights order so I went exploring... only had 2 melee combat perks. In gothic1-2 that would have been enough to kill 100xp mobs easiely with an endgame crafted weapon. And no melee trainers insight, not even at the arena, castle was closed too. Was everywhere in the city.
