CD Projekt RED aka Polish Bioware thread
Weren't there rumors, based on a LinkedIn post, that CDPR were also working on a Soyberpunk DLC, which was apparently unrelated to the 2.3 patch coming this month?
I can understand the reasoning behind the 2077 DLC if true, since the game is still selling well and they'd see reasonable returns if a new expansion released, so why not hand over development to an outside studio while their focus on their feminist magnum opus?
But Witcher 3 seems bizarre. The only reason I can imagine them doing this is to crowbar the justification for Ciri LARPing as a Witcher to "own the chuds".

We're nearing the end of the early access phase, they just have a few more issues to fix before dropping 1.0.
I've spent 137 hours so far in 2.21 thinking it was the final version.
Always a replay I suppose. Maybe they fixed the crashes in Phantom Liberty?

Considering that Witcher 4 is most likely not coming till 2027 or 2028 at best ,I wouldn’t be surprised they would make an expansion to fill the gap for such a large gap without any releases.gerey wrote: ↑ June 15th, 2025, 10:13Weren't there rumors, based on a LinkedIn post, that CDPR were also working on a Soyberpunk DLC, which was apparently unrelated to the 2.3 patch coming this month?

Going to be some DLC where you play as Ciri to try and build up excitement for the (Not) Witcher 4. Pass.
I thought there was no one left at CD Projekt who understood their own engine, yet this third party does?.
******* Forever Games, **** you all I just want the full experience in one go, not have to dip back every few months for another crumb of content

Even then it's not particularly programming-intensive to make a content-focused DLC. Obsidian made sequels to Bioware and Bethesda games in a very quick period of time despite having no previous experience with those particular engines.wndrbr wrote: ↑ June 15th, 2025, 15:45Fools theory is comprised of ex CDPR devs.KnightoftheWind wrote: ↑ June 15th, 2025, 13:12I thought there was no one left at CD Projekt who understood their own engine, yet this third party does?.

That requires CDPR to be a competent developer.lucky-SVLLa wrote: ↑ June 30th, 2025, 04:07If there is another Cyberpunk 2077 expansion in the oven, I hope it makes the game more similar to Deus Ex.
I only played through TW3 once whereas I played TW2 like 10 times. TW3 **** on everything that TW2 built and the main narrative was pretty lame. Sure, it had a ton of side content and the expansions were great, but they really messed up on the main quest. If you play TW1, 2, and 3 in sequence, it's all a disjointed mess.Atlantico wrote: ↑ November 28th, 2024, 11:30TW3 was a fine game to waste one's time, gameplay, etc. worked well enough. There were flashes of some amazing ideas.
But it was always badly written, with only glimpses of inspired scenes or characters. Attention to detail, worldbuilding and cohesion was simply sub-par. The game wasn't woke, it was liberal in its political ideas and broke the fourth wall way too often to wink at the player. as if indicating that this RPG nerdy **** isn't really what this is about.
Ciri Witcher is going to suck, you know Ciri is just going to be a girl boss character and she also won't have Geralt's dry, witty/sarcastic personality unless they completely change her character.

The worlds we create are shaped by the people behind them. Bringing together individuals with different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives helps us in our goal to create memorable stories that inspire gamers.
That's why we're committed to building an environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to contribute. We believe this responsibility extends beyond our teams and into the communities around us.
For several years, we've partnered with Kampania Przeciw Homofobii (Campaign Against Homophobia) to support grassroots LGBTQ+ initiatives across Poland. And, as in previous years, REDs joined the Warsaw Pride parade.

The new Witcher will be at least ten times worse than Cyberpunk 2077, which already was a pile of hot, steaming ****. However, I'm still uncertain whether it's going to be the kind of flop that's fun to destroy and laugh at or the kind of limp, pathetic failure that isn't even interesting enough to watch videos about. Goy cattle will defend it, though…
