It always bugged me how FAMAS, despite having a 3-rounds burst mode, uses mags with capacity of only 25 rounds. You've made eight bursts and now you only have 1 round left, you can use it to *************!
It makes sense if you plan to spend and change mags while firing in burst mode. After eight bursts one bullet stays in the barrel and you only need to change mag without need to chamber a round.wndrbr wrote: ↑ November 22nd, 2024, 11:58It always bugged me how FAMAS, despite having a 3-rounds burst mode, uses mags with capacity of only 25 rounds. On one hand, the game was developed by a bunch of eastern europeans, so the salaries shouldn't have been all that high. OTOH they spent like six years developing it, they had to move to a different country, and they also received support from Microsoft and Nvidia. OTOH (2) Microsoft paid to make the game a day-1 gamepass fodder.
I wonder how high the budget was, and what would be the break-even number of units sold.

Yeah it's true, that's why I tend to play with a controller. I could keep the keyboard on my expansive gut but my fat arms are too heavy to lift up there for that long.logincrash wrote: ↑ November 22nd, 2024, 13:29@Nooneatall, can you confirm or deny?NotAI wrote: ↑ November 21st, 2024, 17:36“i think its cause keyboard and mouse is limiting your sitting position which is problem

It's not better than call of pripyat but it sure as hell ain't trash. You just have to disable the ****** aim assist and smoothing, awkward UI elements and start in the hardest setting. The softcore elements were added due to publisher requirements to sell to consoleturds - they weren't actual PC design decisions. Performance sucks serious *** and the shaders may compile like ****, resulting in wonky meshes and frame drops - but that's nothing that can't be fixed later.
Cutscenes are awesome and so is the gunplay. Yeah, you get your bullet sponges too but that don't mean **** if you get a proper shotgun early on, and stashes are in many cases overabundant.
A-Life feels very odd since you can't really hear enemies coming near you as it's likely they spawn within a few yards. The AI isn't **** though and does resort to the good ol' sneaky rearing just like in the prequels, but doesn't often seem to take cover appropriately nor engage cooperatively.
Overall 3.6 roentgen/5 - not great, not terrible. Mods/patches will fix it.

It can be mostly redeemed by editing the settings, some in the menu, some in a control file.Breathe wrote: ↑ November 22nd, 2024, 02:50Oh no, he says the mouse aim is **** and that they made it for console first.

I can't believe you've done this.
But yeah. You shouldn't have to.
But also, I always have to experiment with sensitivity to get a game to respond the way I like and my brain expects anyway.

Question is are you going to gargle the truth or swallow?
You can, to a degree.logincrash wrote: ↑ November 22nd, 2024, 15:02>can't rebind your keys
Is this real? If so, that's ******* atrocious. Just reeks of 2005-2015 ****** movie tie-in games with shoddy PC ports.
But it's not a full input rebind, in that everything bound to key 1 rebinds to key 2, only the most superficial connection.
The example he uses is: he likes using TFGH instead of WASD, so he wants J as melee and Y as whatever E would be. Interact, iirc.
So he pushes T to walk forward to a ladder and engages with it, climbing on.
And then T does nothing. Going UP the ladder requires pushing W.
Because W is bound several ways in the backend to [forward-left-thumbstick-controller] or whatever.
And you don't rebind W from [forward-left-thumbstick-controller] to whatever key you want instead, you rebind W from [forward_walk] to whatever key, bypassing [forward-left-thumbstick-controller] completely and ignoring all the other things that [forward-right-thumbstick-controller] is connected to, which remain bound to W.
So you can rebind [forward_walk] from W to T, but [forward_ladder] remains bound to W and you cannot rebind [forward_ladder] at all in the settings, apparently.
And you may not even be able to rebind them by editing in the control files manually.
Same with melee. It wouldn't rebind from V (why V default?!? that's ****!).
He pushed rebound Y to do something, and it did it, but Y is bound to change fire mode or something, so it did that too.
Utter UI control scheme incompetence.

This game has ALL the hallmarks of a game developed solely for the ****** consoles and the ******* that play them.
Not all console people are ******** peasants, but many, perhaps most are. And they're an anchor chain around game development.
EVERY Bethesda game after Morrowind had huge problems because of the weak, **** consoles and the weak, stupid players they were developed for, as examples.

Meme answers, but they're true. While I haven't played much of No Man's Sky, in my most recent attempt to play it (about 2-3 months ago) there hasn't been a single bug or crash and it ran at smooth 60FPS (because I locked it at that). And Cyberpunk on release was pretty much unplayable for most. Now it runs well and about a billion bugs and glitches were exterminated.
"Oh, it all makes sense now, brother."
Cyberpunk2077, iirc, was buggy as hell, but still ran decently despite the bugs and crashes and such, so I don't think that counts.
Did No Man's Sky actually run poorly, or was it just janky and boring, poorly designed early access tier ****?

Okay, but I'm talking only about running poorly on high end hardware, struggling to get a solid 60fps, and then being properly refactored to optimize the graphics to achieve a stable high framerate.logincrash wrote: ↑ November 22nd, 2024, 15:33I think crashes definitely count as "not running well." Something many modern games like, say, Dragon's Dogma 2, desperately need but will never get unless modder autists get into it like they did with the Xray engine for original STALKER.

Please be clear: I am not talking about bugs or crashes, I am only talking about the ability to run at 60fps or better at all times when the engine could not accomplish that solid 60+ framerate upon release due to poor/nonexistent optimization.Nemesis wrote: ↑ November 22nd, 2024, 18:53Cyberpunk 2077. More on the stupid player theory. There are streamers playing this on STORY difficulty, without shame.
Then they still fail over and over. Like falling from heights. (Who would have thought that a 200 foot drop from a crane was deadly.)
"Wha-What happened." Reload. Walk off cliff again. Reload. "I dunno what happening. Silly game. This must be those bugs ppl talk about."
Walk into radiation, screen goes beepy and full of white noise...keep going...die...RELOAD. Does this 3X in a row... "I dunno what happening. Silly game. This must be those bugs ppl talk about."
Miss 2 out of 3 shots with a shotgun, complain about bugs and difficulty. Clear from stream they are aiming wrong. "How did that miss? This must be those bugs ppl talk about."
But...all these same streamers just WHUP Dark Souls.
Hmm.
Could it be that Dark Souls is actually an easy game, once you guess or read the meta? Could it be?
I think 95% of current streamers would have gotten REKT on Unreal Tournament or Wolfenstein ET. They suck.
What happened? How do ppl play E-sports well but suck at ordinary vanilla FPS?
