He talks about how Arcanum was made by such a "small team", yet it is undeniably the best game he actually worked on from start to finish. No, I won't accept your Fallout cope.
Arcanum was made with a fraction of the budget, manpower(OK, well, maybe the same manpower), time, etc., as Outer Turds. Arcanum was also a moonshot project, whereas Outer Kurds was purposely kept ""limited"" in scope.
I found Outer Worlds a lot more enjoyable to play than Arcanum. We'll see with the second playthrough (dropped it shortly after the crash site with Arcanum).

I've said this a million times before but Arcanoom had good ideas and nothing else.

I completed it once. Just wasn't enjoyable enough to go through a second time even with a different build.

Is Outer Worlds THE game for gender ambiguous sour cream guzzlers?

No, there's a lot about it I don't care for. It's the core gameplay that appeals to me to some degree.

Earlier this week I finished listening to most of Tim Cain's videos I had added to my playlist while on the way to work. Most of it was stuff I already knew, but it got me thinking about how few old game devs you see still working in dev teams. It seems like the game devs from 20 or even 10 years ago get pushed out of the dev teams into backend business roles, or they go into contract work or go indie or eject from the entertainment industry into doing regular programming work, while new younger devs come and fill in the main dev team positions for the big games. You can point to people like Todd Howard or Kojima but they are exceptions, a star director versus the large number of people working for him.

There's three different places I can think of to put this, but I guess it will go here. Timmy says anyone who really wants to do an Arcanum remaster is going to have their work cut out for them.

The neat part is that they're under no obligation to do any of that. Just run the graphics through an upscaler to make them look worse and bloat up the file-size, maybe make the UI controller-friendly, and call it a day.

Tim Cain, not Tim Kaine the beta male that was Hillary's running mate. I had to look at that again 😂

Something would need to be done with UI. Tried to replay Arcanum recently but it's too much of a pain to deal with its controls and menus so I gave up somewhere in Tarant.

The idea of being a gay old man retiring is really funny. What are you going to do? Watch all of your no kids and no grandkids grow up? Continue to worsen your fecal incontinence with the other old fudgepacker you live with?

That video where he talks about playing all the way through Outer Worlds with multiple characters for a game that's left zero cultural impact....

I often say writing doesn't matter but this only counts if you didn't try at the writing. If you try and it's bad you are ****** so it's better to just not try at all

Video I saw of Metroid Prime 4 where they turned off the speech audio and subtitles leads me to believe this is true.
