You know, it's hard to judge by just 30 minutes, of course, but it gave me personally this "juvenile" or "fanfiction" feeling - dialogue, mostly. Not only spoken words, but even some of it being out of place (vendor, some banter) and some just unnatural (again, while speaking with vendor) character exposition.
Hopefully, I'm just picky as hell But not a good look, so far.

I played a bit of WOTR back in the days, and one NPC there had ATROCIOUS ******* dialogue all the time - while others had normal ones, and twin sister really gave those vibes back. And her voice acting... Wanted to put her to the sword, lol
But again, hopefully, I'm just picky, and it'll be alright.

IMO the only deciding factor on this game being good or not is how much owlcat will let u side with Mars but they seem to be going for a mixed hodgepodge party so idk. Pirate on launch and maybe buy it in a year after its been patched and polished.

In Mortism's video he said you could pick a Martian origin/background/starter in the full game so I'm moving my goalposts to pirate unless there is an SFM video of your character cumming on the blonde girls face at max relationship.

I'm not that surprised tbh.

We already saw the signs in WotR where you had a golden golem who could cast illusion magic in your armor to make your gear look however you wanted. But least in that game the usage of that golem was optional.

I think this decision from Owlcat is quite lazy, since in a sci-fi setting you could easily give an in-story explanation about how your armor can be customized with technology, so if you got some good armor that you thought was ugly, you could put in the time and effort to change its looks.

Or hell, just re-use the WotR idea and introduce a "hologram robot" who can change the way your armor looks on the fly.

The Beta has been live for a month now, and the amount of feedback you've sent our way has been incredible. More than seven thousand people filled out the Beta survey: we’ve received a lot of unique suggestions and reports via the Beta’s bug report tool, and have gathered a lot of interesting statistics via telemetry and a ton of feedback from social media.

The general reception of the Beta has been great. We received a lot of praise for the visuals, EVA, combat, Larry’s and Zafar’s heroics, music, and the general atmosphere of Pinkwater 4 station. Of course we also got some criticism and a huge volume of advice on how we can improve. We're still combing through every piece of feedback very carefully, hosting discussions among our teams, and determining what needs to be addressed and to what extent. We’ve noted some of the key points below (based on your feedback), and what actions we’ve already taken and plan to take down the road:

While the voice actor for the male protagonist and J put in a lot of good work, they felt less expressive than we wanted. Because of this, we are changing the voices of the male protagonist and J.

Our dev team is also working on the overall character animations, including both facial animation and body movement, to make them feel more natural and polished.

We know J's battle cries got a bit repetitive. The “ask” system was still very much a work in progress during the Beta, and a full rework has been on our roadmap all along. Still, thank you for pointing it out and sharing your thoughts.

Though the overall narrative tone of the game is a deliberate creative direction, the player feedback helped us identify the moments where certain interactions felt too inconsistent or out of place. As a result, some conversations in the game will be adjusted to make character reactions feel more natural, responsive, and grounded.

We are working on the cover system to make your interactions with cover easier and more intuitive. We will keep improving this aspect of the game until the release.
