This has to be the most ********, forced "controversy" I've seen in many years. Chuddies and ******** are truly cut from the same cloth.

It's not controversial, or forced. A lot of people who played the first game genuinely enjoyed it, and had high hopes for the sequel.

Now, the same developer who stated that there were no black people has proceeded to add them, just because, while really stretching historic believability to do it.

Having also made a previously heterosexual man into a player-sexual ****** is just insult to injury; I also wouldn't be surprised if Theresa is not in game because DEIslop cannot accept the premise of healthy, heterosexual relationships -- instead the player can choose to be a ******, a fornicator, or an adulterer. Wow! So progressive.

They did the same thing in BG3 with Shadowheart - she had to be a ***** because she was white, conventionally attractive, and the straight white males choice.

Developers purposely spit in peoples faces, and people expect them to thank them for it?

It's a single ****** in a big city in central europe, who has a plausible and entirely believable reason for being there. The game doesn't pretend that he's native to the land, it treats him as an entirely foreign and unusual element that he is supposed to be. As far as I understand, Henry is canonically heterosexual and the gay romance thing is entirely optional for people who want to explore that route i.e. chuds, because they can NEVER resist the gay route in any RPG.

Everything I've seen and heard about the game from reviews by people who have ACTUALLY played it tells me it's going to be an excellent RPG and a big improvement over the original. Maybe I'm wrong and nigsa and gay romance are just the tip of the iceberg and a sign of things to come. Perhaps there will be many subtle, subversive woke elements in the game that are not so bad and blatant on their own, but they will compound to create an unpleasant and annoying experience. If that turns out to be the case I will admit I was wrong, but so far I'm not seeing it. This controversy is so ******** that at fist I thought it was a r/gamingcirclejerk false flag and it was only after checking in here to see people lose their mind over it that I realized that chuds are indeed throwing one of the chuddiest games under the bus because they got 2 bad things out of 100.

However, it's clearly not a "nothingburger" (hate that term), is it? Considering such black and gay was shunted into a story and setting that didn't already have it, and for what reason?

It's like pronouns. "Oh totally not important at all, such a little thing that has no impact, what are you cryi--WAIT, WTF ARE YOU DOING CHUDSTER? PRONOUNS ARE ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL IN THIS GAME AND MUST STAY, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO REMOVE THEM!!"

So yeah, the problem is less about the specific scale and impact, but more around WHY the devs felt the need to add it in?
WHY is this gay option even necessary?
WHY include a black Wakandian who's oh so noble compared to the dirty europoors and has to educate them. A black man is speaking, listen and learn!

Do they really feel it was absolutely CRITICAL to the game's story? Well the gay bit clearly isn't if it's optional, so why add it at all?
And I'm sure they could have done without the ******, too. What does it add for the players?

But of course it isn't about the players, is it. It's about the politics.
Oh well, I hope they keep being open with what's in it, then the market will tell. And the same for their next game. They could have had something fresh and different without literal ******/*******, but chose not to.
