Tie is broken in favor of Morrowind, because as far as I can tell it released in 2002 and Realms of Antiquity released in 2020.

Is there a specific reason for why there's 6 billion diseases in Morrowind? Are they just really stinky? No wonder the Empire had to put its boots down here.

It probably plays into the main quest because at one point you gain immunity to diseases.

If you add diseases to your game it's better to add many of them. I think it's good for immersion.

With the LP coming to an end I'll have nothing to do but JAG titles quietly and backlog for something to do... JAG game is Morrowind... ahh no I think I gotta go again...

Brother and I just made toons to possibly give this a go once more.

Personally, I just characterize diseases based on how you get them and whether or not you can walk it off.

A lot of NPCs keep advising me to stay away or postpone missions or areas that might be too tough for my current ability. Like, incessantly. Did something happen in Daggerfall to warrant this subtle-as-a-jackhammer dev advice? Did people get filtered in that game and then complained?

That's just vidya game logic in action. If an NPC tells you to do a thing, then you must do the thing. If an NPC tells you NOT to do a thing, then you must do the thing.

Playing Gothic II right now and it's mandatory to save before fighting any new enemy because Wolf 2 might one shot you even though it's visually identical to Wolf 1 like thirty feet away. Maybe they should just put red skulls above the heads of tough enemies :)

I know both can be categorized as ********, but brown (common wolves) and black (wargs) aren't the same.

Do you get recommended for MAID if you go to have your vision checked or is that still covered?

I made a save way back in like 2018, playing as a Dunmer Nightblade (canon Nerevarine choice imo), but didn't progress very far. Decided to continue on with him

Wasted about 10 minutes or so fistfighting some random rat on the road in the rain to level hand-to-hand and unarmoured for shits and gigs. Very dramatic battle

I think the very first piece of fanfiction I've ever read was a short story set in Morrowind. It was about an Ashlander Dunmer assassinating some Imperial bureaucrat and then jumping out of a window to escape.

Been a while since I've played Morrowind. I purchased a boxed copy back when it first launched. It was 'filled' with bugs and crashed every 10-20 minutes. The view distance and graphics had to be set as low as possible as my machine at the time was not really up to the task, but even with all that, it was an amazing game.

My tolerance for glitches and crashing is much lower these days. Hopefully the last official patch cleaned most of it up.

► The Journey So Far...

After playing Skyrim coming back to Morrowind has been an interesting experience. I think that the focus on learning the landmarks and general navigation is one of the strengths Morrowind has over its sequels. For example on my way to Balmora I took a wrong turn and unexpectedly ended up in Vivec. I'd forgotten how much fun just exploring this game is.

So far I've made good inroads into the mage's guild and also just finished the temple's 'Seven Graces'.

I thought the enemy spawn rates were higher, since I'm regularly getting jumped by 4+ enemies this run, but I chalked that up to me not remembering what they were like before.

Caius Cosades makes a point of telling the player to **** off and get some experience before getting knee deep in the main quest. Considering that the game was designed with fixed encounters, it makes sense for it to nudge players into not railroading the main quest. ****, players being unable to read might have been in part responsible for the level scaled faggotry of the later entries.
