well there's avowed (awful), kcd 2 (gay), expedition 33 (rugpulls you halfway through the game with a crappy plot twist), ac yasuke (lol), vtmb2 (not even an rpg), and a bunch of weirdo jap games no one played except Val the Muffia boss.Bertram_Tung wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:14not saying much!rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:06Might be the dark horse of 2025 RPGOTY tbh, everything else I can think of right now was awful

this flaw from the screenshot looks like it would've been a perfect trait, not something you pick up midway through the game (and not something you can just dismiss).rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:57Those exist, they're part of the trait system(positive & negative traits)wndrbr wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:55it's still stupid how you can just reject flaws.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 05:44Some cool flaws now, got this one from spreading my skill points out.The system was really half-baked in the first one► Show Spoiler
Flaws should've been a part of a character generation, like Fallout's traits.

Flaws are meant to be reactive to your playstyle, the game watches what you do and basically says "yeah, you want to play into that? Here's a flaw you can take"wndrbr wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 08:00this flaw from the screenshot looks like it would've been a perfect trait, not something you pick up midway through the game (and not something you can just dismiss).rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:57Those exist, they're part of the trait system(positive & negative traits)wndrbr wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:55

As ****** as Bloodlines 2 was, at least it wasn't 83 GB. All game developers should be flayed alive and then rolled in salt and set on fire afterwards.
Also, 7 GB for an artbook? ******, you're insane.
Because I love the Dragon Age setting and wanted to see how much they tried to ruin it.

They already started pissing on the lore with Inquisition, you didn't have to play veiguard, or 100% that ****, to see this.logincrash wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 09:21As ****** as Bloodlines 2 was, at least it wasn't 83 GB. It's a Unity application. Avowed had the same thing.wndrbr wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 10:05it's probably an unreal engine powered application that's basically a powerpoint slideshow with music playing in the background.

hitting a few other bugs too, had another one with the same quest, companion has a speech bubble stuck on them(means he wants to talk, but there's no dialogue), etc.,
Guess you should wait for patches

They do the same with soundtracks. It's no longer just a folder with a bunch of mp3 or flac files, now it's an entire unreal/unity application, and all of the tracks are baked into game archives.ghardy wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 10:17logincrash wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 10:09It's a Unity application. Say what you will about The Outer Worlds and Avowed but they were polished releases. First the Avowed patch, now this, Obsidian's slippin'.

Obsidian has long ago been buried after slipping and cracking its head open on the pavement. What's happening currently is akin to a necrophile graverobber raping the rotten corpse. And the games released are the corpse gas escaping from every orifice.Roguey wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 11:41Say what you will about The Outer Worlds and Avowed but they were polished releases. Also funny because none of these games are RPGs, just action games with barely relevant RPG features. I think (never played any).wndrbr wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:59well there's avowed (awful), kcd 2 (gay), expedition 33 (rugpulls you halfway through the game with a crappy plot twist), ac yasuke (lol), vtmb2 (not even an rpg), and a bunch of weirdo jap games no one played except Val the Muffia boss.Bertram_Tung wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:14not saying much!rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 07:06Might be the dark horse of 2025 RPGOTY tbh, everything else I can think of right now was awful

Everything is a RPG now, and no one cares about the meaning of that acronym anymore. And if you dare to remind all those tourists and **** what a ROLE-PLAYING GAME is supposed to be, you'll only end up with a headache.Irenaeus wrote: ↑ October 27th, 2025, 12:16Also funny because none of these games are RPGs, just action games with barely relevant RPG features. No one can handle this much warp and come out untainted.

I've only watched 40 mins of Synth playing it and I've had enough. Woke out the *** - in the visuals, the characters, and the writing.

I've kept in mind what Thulsa has mentioned, but haven't seen anything firsthand that dissuades me from watching him.
