To be fair, the series is all over the place when it comes to her skin tone in across incarnations, not at all helped by the fact that many iterations of the game have very limited granularity. Sims 1 only had 3 skintones, 2 only had 4, etc.. Obviously, the choices made here were clearly just to cheese off the easily-triggered libs, but the correct "canonical" option is all over the place.

The Sims isn't a game to play for the lore just by virtue of its main sandbox life-simulation gameplay loop. Because of that it's almost entirely purely emergent storytelling.
The vast majority of players are just women playing with virtual Barbies, then there's the people who just want to create and torture weird ugly freaks. The remaining tiny minority is the people who even know that there's such a thing as "Sims lore" and an even smaller fraction of those are people who know and are invested in this lore.
But Rusty was correct. The hardest part of modding the Sims is gathering the will to play it. It can't be that hard on the technical side, considering how many black women make mods for it. So, you have all the power to make whatever changes you want.

Guys here is how i deal with undesirable sims and their cookie random wardrobes in my new saves:
Mc command center:
1. click on mailbox, delete every single sim in the world
2. Save a bunch of cuties in your gallery
3. click on pc, go to Dresser/Outfit Settings/Only use Saved Outfits and Population/Populating settings/Import Tray settings tabs in mccommand center, make it so that they only wear saved outfits and only import tray sims. Bonus for skin management: Dresser/Percent use Custom Skin Tone (100%)
4. no undesirables, ever.

It can't be that hard on the technical side, considering how many black women make mods for it. So, you have all the power to make whatever changes you want.

The thing is that there's several different tiers of modding: There's people release a saved file that anyone could have just created in the game and call it a "mod". There's people who create simple mods by editing a few basic values in an extracted XML config (bad practice, since it's very non-patch-robust), often using a prebuilt tool that does most of the lifting for them. There are people who create mods which are mostly artist in the form of textures and meshes for custom skins, but these people tend to have very little understanding of the technical aspects of what they're doing and tend to create pretty things that are technically noncompliant disaster areas where their bar for success is "it loads and appears in the game", ignoring that it will fail at various often-subtle tests of playable functionality. Then there's people who can actually create modded code that involves having to actually understand programming and structure. The very best can pull together multiple such skillsets to create something truly unique that is technically compliant with original assets and code. Racial sampling at the top tiers is probably not meaningful due to the fact that there's maybe a handful such individuals in the entire community.

Was going to call @Norfleet a ***** here but I can't claim he's ***** without proof. So let's examine the evidence.

***** proof 1: Consistently complains in multiple posts about a save, knowing full well the amount of Sims that needed editing AND knowing that the replacement method is currently broke in the current version of Sims 4. If it was not, there would be a save and a replacer mod for new games. He knows this, and still whines. He is a *****.

But that unfortunately means he's still clueless. Just not as bad. But that's still: a *****.

***** proof 3: What the hell is he still even doing in this thread? Someone of his pure eminence and amazingness and ability should not be sullying himself in the presence of a mere "edited save". A modder of his stature should have posted once and then been on his way. That would have been a clearly a non-***** move. That he's even still here AND complaining about a save can only mean a very unfortunate reality. I don't like to admit it. I hate it in fact. But we have to face the fact that he may be... a *****.

Conclusion:
- Complains at least twice about a save being referred to as a "mod" knowing why it's a save in the first place. Once was non-*****. Twice is: *****.
- Clueless on complexities of ripping yet makes post about it anyway. (Even if I personally agree making new models is better.) Sorry, have to go with: *****.

Well there are a few issues with this.

1 -- Assuming all pacific islanders are "Hawaiian".
2 -- Assuming Hawaiians even exist in the simlish world in the first place. That's Sulani cultural appropriation!
3 -- Mermaids aren't even originally from the tropical regions, they're from the cold north and should be fair skinned. The islanders are mostly mermaids. So really I'm being culturally accurate here by having them fair and red headed.
