That is where I was at with my random quote saying. Dude just raged about "time" , then ,since you "played the game" and gained "xp" you put the points in the skill or whatever. It seems this is dudes 3rd language or something so full expression of ideas might be difficult.
I say we come up with a system where you start at level 1 with 50 points, you put those points in to build your custom playstyle for the MC and then you get 10 points a level into basics like HP/MP/SP and 30 points free to put into the one that helps most that level. You can do side quests based of which skills you throw points into to get some perks and/or abilities (perks - passives, abilities - active, for a tenuous definition).
If you don't have at least level 4 in stealth you can't get the ability "Melds w/ shadows" but level 3 stealth gets you past most guards so is good enough for most people. Setting up your base skills for your style of play from the beginning would save you from the "stealth archer" trap and give you a new reason to do more side quests that do more than just "kill 30 boars" and can be written to challenge your individual playstyle. It also would give completionist types a reason for full replays with new character builds instead of my all in one character. Yes there will be a bit of repetitiveness but over all a plus not a negative. Nothing will ever be perfect. So let us all get together and tell them to redesign all of the cuddy mechanic aspects and release the game years latter just like DQ12. LOL
