I guess it doesn't matter much. 5e doesn't have much in the way of flavorful classes. Artificer would be my choice if they only add one more.

Mediocre or bad games can still have parts that are good.

Putting a man and a woman on screen, but the number of genders is still undetermined.

Will wait for the artificer class to give it a try.

Was really disappointed in the demo due to slow turns and annoying camera even though I like the first Solasta.

Yeah pretty much.
Bought it and played about 70 minutes.
Character creation has Morphology and Body Types. It has He/She/They Pronouns. Ugly ******* female characters. Ugly ******* facial animations. Presets were ugly as ****, randomized parties will always be 2/4 *******.

I'm quite surprised that how the first game was a success since it looks as generic as possible, I guess RPG gamers have a fixation on DnD but it just looks so unimpressive that I never have any intention to even try it out. Nothing of value was lost really.

I thought it was pretty boring, 5e combat isn't fun

The first game was a success because the Kickstarter looked like they had no money, but were trying their best and they shoved in the they/them's right as the game launched.

You go to Kickstarter because you want to build a reputation. And this is the reputation they've built. How is anyone but them at fault for what is currently happening? :)

1. First game in the genre that really explored verticality. Including climbing up surfaces and enemies attacking while clinging to walls. People imagined this would be more fun than it actually is.

2. After zero 4e turn-based games there was pent up demand. Reminder that Solasta came out two years before Baldur's Gate 3.

3. Lost Valley is a genuinely good stand alone RPG. It has the refinement and improved gameplay one used to see when games had expansion packs instead of DLC. I don't blame anyone for being excited about Solasta 2 after Lost Valley. Even if their second expansion pack was less fun and more linear.

Not sure what my expectations were but this doesn't look like anything special. Maybe it gets better the further you go into the campaign but I doubt it. Looks like a title that will hold my attention for about 30ish~ hours at best. For now I'll just watch this youtube guy play the game for me.
