Congratulations! That's an unusual date for release - I've heard that the conventional wisdom from indie developers is NOT to release during the Summer or Winter sales. What made you decide that's the right time for this game?

It would probably be considered a high risk, high reward maneuver. But the summer sale has the most eyeballs on the site for the entire year. I consulted at length with people who knew their **** and their response was that if I'm confident enough in the game, it's optimal for a lot of reasons.

Also, it appeals to me. There's something about charging into the sale head-on. I hope I survive it!

More than likely. I doubt they'll make an exception for me.

You could probably sell it on itch.io and provide steam keys for german users. The Fear and Hunger dev did it like that back when Termina came out.

I've decided against it, mostly because of technical reasons and because I don't need steam to think i'm trying to pull something.

But as I've said above, it's optional.

Interesting. I will probably support you (even if we disagree on stuff) just hoping that the game will be available on steam but if not the Itch.io route is hopefully an option.
Seeing on Itch.io that one can buy the game for 35.00 USD, would you then provide a code for steam then? (I like to have my games on steam as a convenience thing)
