Played the demo, it gave me 15 arrows and even all that wasn't enough to kill the first enemy I saw. Then I got to a second one and it was also a massive health sponge. There were also a number of annoying hitches, Unity isn't the right kind of engine for this kind of thing. Dropped, terrible game.

You are playing as a lv 1 nobody. You will kill enemy very fast past lv 10. I'm lv 19 at moment.

I'm playing as an non lifer. Seems like I am in the end of act 1 and will have to face a round table knight even his squires are relative powerful. Seems like there was other ways to complete act 1. He was not hard. BUT If I had rushed MQ, I would have faced a very hard time. I'm loving this game.

The enemy leashing is pretty bad. If you play a ranged character you're guaranteed to **** up enemy AI just by playing evasively. Their health doesn't reset either.

Zero tolerance for zero-to-hero after RPG devs finally figured out that the beginning of the game should have the most fun, polished content. I chose the background choices that put points into archery and it still took over 15 arrows to kill one guy, unacceptable.

After Oblivion, I want more Zero to Hero games, I don't want games which you level up and become weaker in relation to the world.

Mage is great. Is very weak at the beginning but once you invest a lot and get powerful spells, those who requires 12+ spirit, you become very powerful.

Reached second region.

One thing that I noticed is that if in EVERY TES game, from Arena to Skyrim, is ridiculous easy to make a battlemage almost as powerful as a pure martial in melee and almost as powerful as a pure caster at spellcasting, with so much powerful enchantments in your weapons and so much buffs, summons and self healing that you are a walking God, mainly if you pick Breton as your race, in this game, the game heavily punishes you for using heavy armor without lots of investment into certain attributes and skill tree. Hence I'm leaning more into "pure mage".

other than the lack of ability to drag objects, it's surprisingly close to feeling like a creation engine game in terms of things you'd expect
combat feels significantly better tho

excellent level design

no companions tho, so, max 4/10 score + uninstalled

There's zero reason for locks that can be picked to exist in the game, you will be able to pick all of them regardless of build. Just ticking off checkboxes on a list

Oblivion is zero to hero as long as you don't level up past 20-25. As some old dev put it
While Oblivion had a lot of system design issues, their terrible character building and leveling system, for one, overall it was a solid experience. It was well engineered and scoped and while not free of bugs it was polished enough to sell a bajillion copies, and if there is one thing that gamers react to more than design or art direction or story or sound or anything else it is overall polish. Shooting a guy with 5000 arrows before he dies may be pretty ******, but I'll be damned if those arrows didn't skewer him entertainingly.
Unfortunately Questline decided to replicate the "5000 arrows before the enemy dies" experience precisely.

You're the only person with this problem, roguey.
Just so you know, aim for the part without armor next time champ.

One spell in stealth and 1/3 of the boss HP is lost.

PS : I'm playing in the lowest graphical setting possible an on normal difficulty

False. At level 20, a Dremora Valkynaz would have 180 hp (50 + (5 + 1.8) x (20 - 1)). Lightning bolt deals 35 damage. Meaning 6 lightning bolts for one kill. Meanwhile, Morrowind Lightning Bolt deals 40–100 (10–50 damage for 2 seconds) or 70 average damage, and a Dremora has 135 hp. It doesn't matter if you are level 1 or 50. So, a level 20 Breton Battlemage can kill a Dremora with two casts. On Oblivion, he needs 6. Making fighting dremora in Oblivion 3x more bloated even without counting the ridiculous levels hp bloat. At high levels, according to my math, many enemies could soak up like 15+ lightning bolts.

LOL.

Such bad design, a plague infected lv 1 nobody with the worst bow in the game and worst arrow has problems dealing with armor. What Tainted Grail needs is a system where at lv 1 he one shots everything. After leveling up, enemies get much more hp than he gets damage and everything soaks 666 arrows /s

It took me a boatload of fireballs to kill enemies at the start, but they're not a consumable. Judging from the amount of arrows I've picked up, archers must be forced to craft often.

Some combat encounters were so long I'd just sprint around looting while waiting for my mana to regenerate. I've yet to encounter an enemy that can deal with summon spam+back peddling.

Every level has been meaningful for me so far. It's worth reading the trees of skills you don't use to find synergies.

This game is a preinstalled skyrim modlist, and it does almost everything better. Melee is the only correct build.

Honestly, the spells which I found in the game so far are all quite amazing and interesting. I can't judge the melee weapons, as I'm a pure mage, but they also seems quite good with cool effects by only reading their description.

That was not in 0.9. Looks like the game is vastly improved for the release version. Wonder how much more stuff they put in the first act.
