I will look into Signalis further. I was of the impression the lesbian romance was a major part of the story but perhaps I was mistaken.
I'll be spoiling the explanation in case people want to play the game, since explaining it and my reasoning behind it give away way too much of the plot.
► Show Spoiler
I have nothing against how the game is described, just with the "Not recommended" label - Signalis is an excellent survival horror title, the lesbian stuff doesn't get in the way, and I'd argue the narrative works because it's universal, the choice the protagonist is confronted with is one not exclusive to dykes, unlike nearly all other stories involving LGBT weirdos.

I'm open to anyone else that has played the game to give an opposing view. I'll also say this, for a game that is ostensibly woke, Signalis spends a great deal (in fact, way more) shitting on the space socialist regime than it lambasting the audience with dykes.

Analogue: A Hate Story should be classified as "Not recommended" - there is no gameplay to speak of, the whole game is reading about how evil the space Korean patriarchy is and how bad the poor girl has it, and the game goes to great lengths to justify her genocide of the whole space ship.

Analogue: A Hate Story has been updated to not recommended.

On Signalis, the prevalence of the lesbian relationship (the one involving the player character) seems consistent with many games that have been classified as "not recommended" due to the story revolving around that relationship and the romantic interactions that are explicitly shown.

As laid out by our methodology, the "informational" label is mainly applied to games that contain optional/subtle LGBTQ+ content. A game that features a lesbian relationship (especially one involving the player character), particularly where romantic interactions are explicitly shown, is considered overtly pro-LGBTQ+ and is deserving of the "not recommended" label.

Fair enough. At least Analogue got what it deserved.

Let's see if I can remember a few more:

I'd classify it as "Not recommended" - initially the game doesn't seem so bad, it has a good atmosphere, there's a mystery that needs to be uncovered, the mechanics are fun and the setting is somewhat underused, but then the cracks begin to appear. Turns out all the bad things that happened to everyone in the story were the fault of the European settlers, and the injuns were gud bois that dindu nuffin.

EDIT: Didn't see it was delisted. The game is Betrayer, apparently it's still available for purchase on GOG.

How exactly is this piece of shit labeled as not having woke content? It's so blatantly in your face about it I can only assume whoever rated it that way has brain damage. The game is all about portraying 19th century US as evil, bigoted and racist (just like the original BioShock was a Jew whining that the gentiles destroy the Jewish utopia).

I don't remember anything overtly woke, but the protagonist is revealed to be a woman, which makes no sense for the historical period the game is set in.

Not sure what to make of this, and all the other games by this team. On the one hand, all games have a strong anti-corporations narrative, to the point the evil corporation is villainous it morphs into unintentional comedy at times. On the other hand, the game doesn't really feature any leftist "workers unite" bullshit, and given what we've seen corporations do in the past 20 years alone, Cayne's track record doesn't really appear that outlandish.

Not woke, surprisingly enough. Also, quite likely, the last time Jane Jensen made an interesting adventure game, before the fujoshi brainrot consumed her whole. Even though the protagonist is female, there's none of the usual bullshit, no ranting about the patriarchy, men aren't portrayed as evil. Just a neat mystery story. Last 1/4 of the game is just bullshit padding though.

been forever since I played that thing, so my memory may be hazy - but I do remember lefties absolutely despising it because of the whole 'both sides are evil' thing when the rebels (led by a chocolate lady) turned out to be sadistic and vindicative fucks who didn't shy from killing children.

Doesn't take away from the original message of the game being "US racist, whites bad".

I had to think a lot about this one when I added it.

I can see where you're coming from, but I'd say the overall message is not "whites bad" but rather "racism is bad."

The game makes it clear all people are capable of racism and all forms of racism are evil. The Vox Populi are not portrayed as completely righteous nor morally superior to Comstock and the Founders.

It's possible I'm being too charitable in my interpretation. More feedback welcome.

Apparently whether the inspector is male or female is chosen randomly the first time and then rotates with each new profile created:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/653530/d ... 158802127/

Still, as you said, having a female inspector during this time period makes no sense. I'll add this game as informational since it's a minor detail and is technically a modifiable option.

STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R 2023 Square Enix, Gemdrops, Inc. Square Enix Informational Contains subtly pro-LGBTQ+ messaging. Homosexual romance options.
Specifics on this? Was this something they added in the new version?

I guess I should clarify that to say "some possible endings imply homosexual romance."

At least, that's what I gathered from what little information I could find about the many possible endings and the game's convoluted friendship/romance system.

Here's a gamefaqs thread with some information:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/19 ... y/76972151

There's also this video that shows all the endings but I haven't had time to watch the entire thing:

edit: I've watched a few same-sex endings now and it seems pretty tame but I still think romance is strongly implied. I've updated the review in the manner described above.

I don't have time to watch a 2h video, and would prefer a transcript I could scan through.

The only ending I could find that looks questionable is this one (source below)

http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/psx/so2/endings.shtml
7-11 Ashton and Noel: Noel and Ashton are by a cabin in the woods together (which is most likely their house) looking at some animals. Ashton is concerned about how they were going to keep up with the next month's living expenses. Noel, on the other hand, doesn't seem too concerned. He has the "don't worry about anything, everything will turn okay in the long run" attitude. Ashton agree's with him and suggests they go take naps; the two go walk into the distance.
That's the only ending I'm aware of that has homosexual innuendo. The rest of the same-sex endings appear to be "best friends" type of endings.

I played through the game once and I didn't notice any woke content, but I did not see that ending.

Surprisingly, I found someone who made exactly that:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps/198763 ... faqs/38540

Maybe it's just me, but the lines "there are people here who need me" followed by the other character going "I see..." and then fade to black seems like a homosexual innuendo, especially when one of the characters has abandoned his homeworld (as is the case for Claude in the Claude-Bowman ending). Similar lines are used in the Bowman-Ashton ending as well.

Also the line "I've learned many new things" is a strange thing to say after you've abandoned your homeworld to live with someone on an entirely different planet together (as is the case for Rena in the Rena-Opera ending).

No woke content - Recommended

Plus an actual good game. At release, there were a couple of game-ending dead ends you could walk into, not sure if that has been fixed now.

I enjoyed it for what it was. It's about 12-15hrs to finish it. It's priced just right at $10.

I did not like the real-time combat at all. I don't think it generally works well in DRPGs, but I thought it was especially bad with keyboard only controls. Not that the keyboard controls itself is a problem.

Also, it's basically "Learn the 5 Pillars of Islam: The Game".

Might as well add this as non-woke. There is only 1 female hero and she is mostly range or backstabbing. OK role for her.

Bioshock Infinite in particular is the one to throw in the biggest glare, as it was created by a subversive leftist jew with the explicit intent of disparaging and lying (is there anything else that jews do?) about America in the late 1800s.

@Furin I don't know if this would be of any use to you, but you can embed Google spreadsheets now just by linking to a public Google docs spreadsheet URL
e.g.,

(quote my post to see it's just a regular URL)

It's an interesting feature. I can see some benefits and drawbacks.

On the one hand, it would allow the entire table to be in one post.
On the other hand, I would have to put the list in a Google Sheet :yuck:

I'll have to think about it.

Oh very well. I've updated the Bioshock Infinite review.

On Pillars of Eternity, there's been some disagreement here and I haven't played it myself so I'll need more explanation on why some of you think it's got Woke content.

@rusty_shackleford After thinking about it, I guess I'll just put the full table into a Google Sheet.

I hate to tether the list to Google in any way but it's a useful compromise until I figure out a better one.
And I think the currently segmented format of the list here greatly diminishes its usefulness. You guys deserve better.

I'm in the process of formatting the Google Sheet and once I finish I'll make a new post just like I currently do when a new part is necessary. I think it would probably be best to put it in slot 1 here.

You could manage the list in something like LibreOffice, export it(should default to excel sheet format), and import it into Google Docs.

If you just want a generic place to host it, I gave you access to the vault.
https://vault.rpghq.org/

You can also just use it for hosting whatever as long as it's not illegal, I don't place any limits on its usage, linking, etc.,

That might work if it could be displayed here in the forum as a table - as is currently possible with a Google Sheets url.

Does that capability exist?
