Episode 37: Raiding Vaults
We've received intel on a long-lost starship that we might be able to scavenge advanced tech from. This'll be worth looking into.

Val rolls the D20 of Heaven and Hell and gets a random superpower! This would probably be really good if he wasn't a swordsman.

Lil' Wang is gifted the Tough trait.

Rusty gets a rocket pod implanted in/on his shoulder.

The Empire is calling on us to send a large amount of soldiers to take out a rebel base. So many soldiers that we have to bring a few kids and pregnant women to meet the weight capacity for the shuttle.

Even so, we have enough fighters to go ahead and deal with the rebels.

Black Dog has requested and receives a bionic penis, giving him a massive boost to fertility.

The prisoners stage an escape attempt

While many are beaten to death by overzealous mace-wielders, Koze harmlessly puts a bunch out of commission using her psychic abilities

Vergil thinks we may able to weaponize the nociosphere with more study

The supercar wreck that's been in our animal pen this entire time has been restored. There's no way to drive it out without taking down a bunch of walls, so we just dismantle it. Once you restore a specific vehicle wreck, you get the ability to build your own anyway.

We're now able to teleport the nociosphere to an enemy force and have it **** with them before hopefully going away and leaving us alone. Until then, we'll keep it chained up.

Oyster and Herma have their second baby, a girl named Margaret.

The bugs are hard at work drilling for crude oil. I don't even know what to do with it, we're just stockpiling it for fun.

The Cube obsessed weirdos are waking up from their comas after being in bed for a few weeks.

Two surviving prisoners are forced to duel for our amusement. We've crafted plasteel swords to make the fights more deadly.

Maynard gets his only remaining arm cut off and loses the duel.

Boon is able to select two new imperial permits.

We're able to scan aliens and mutants to unlock their genes to create our own custom races. There are so, so many genes to unlock.

Remember WhiteShark? Kirsten's daughter who she gave birth to when she was still a slave who escaped some years back? Now that she's old enough, Kirsten can reach out and invite her to join us. That is, if Val is ready to be the dad who stepped up.

We implant an insect pherocore into a comatose prisoner, just to see what will happen.

Dr. Lise continues to upgrade the ARC generator. It's going to have to burn 1500 more wood to unlock the next boost.

Insects emerge from the ground and we try to hold them off in this chokepoint, but it's clear we're gonna get overwhelmed.

Pulling back behind the bridge with more guys works out better

MC and Gaylene have their first child, a girl.

This guy loves it here so much he requests to join. I have plans for him, so we accept

A nursery for all of these dang ol' babies

Cultists try psychically abducting us again

Not much of a threat at this stage, but the Empire sends us reinforcements anyway

They employ their typical strategy of sending guys into melee range and then nuking them with friendly fire

What should have been a really one-sided affair ends with tons of imperial casualities. Sadly they have death acidifiers installed which melt down all of their gear upon death.

Sallying forth to deal with a nearby insect hive on the world map

Oscar throws up a psychic localized blizzard which makes a great killing field

On the way home we make a side trip to raid a mechanitor's tomb, getting a mechlink for Yoko.

Back at base, a lightning strike(?) hits a crate we were using to store mortar shells. Our entire artillery battery is destroyed in an instant. I swear I thought we put some roof cover over them...

Shrapnel flies everywhere across the yard, shredding Val's kid's head and taking an eye out while she was playing. She just barely survives.

Yoko installs that mechlink, letting her build and control mechs of her own.

Musa of Mali gets married

We get a quest to hold over a dozen prisoners for two weeks. The reward is pretty excellent. They get dropped off.

A team goes to investigate an ancient vault

Defenses inside are still powered on

These doors take hours to hack. Vergil comes in a transport pod to help out and bring snacks/water.

More doors

In the middle of the night, an inhabitant of the vault sneaks up and tries to assassinate Vergil

Another prison break. This time there are so many they manage to bust out in several different directions.

More of the vault. It seems it's built around a genetics lab focusing on unlocking latent powers within a person. We'll steal everything we can carry.

Captain kills a prisoner, instantly failing a quest. Weirdly they don't want the surviving ones transported back, so we're free to do whatever we want with them.

These ancient cryptosleep caskets had a few hostiles in them who we instantly cut down.

Vitya gets engaged

Bought a bunch of cats from an orbital trader for some reason

GhostCow is ambushed by a sightstealer which he promptly cuts down

Our insects are sent to fight them as more arrive. Overwhelming bug victory.

A computer terminal in the first vault led us to the next. This time we sent more people on foot with pack animals so we can strip it clean.

@MC can choose an expertise after hitting 15 in Medical

This vault has special generators in addition to more genetics junk.

We stay a night or two to dismantle everything we're not repurposing for our base.

These ancient bio-battery tanks put out a lot of power once we throw prisoners inside. It'll slowly tear them apart into nothingness and then require more living creatures to give us juice.

With his own personal throne room set up (still very messy though) Stack is able to be risen to the rank of Baron.

Because Duke has the "attain a superpower" aspiration, he'll be the first test subject in the gene editor. I don't know what most of this stuff does, but we have a decent amount of it. It would work faster and more reliably if we had more though.

Stack can choose a custom persona weapon type since he's a Baron.

The Empire also gives us a psychic catgirl sexslave

She almost immediately forms a bond with Boon.

That guy who volunteered to join us a while ago is sent off with some recruited prisoners to establish a permanent mining outpost in the mountains nearby. Every season they'll send us what they've dug up and otherwise never be seen again. Thank you for your service.

頬白鮫's unnamed kid earns the nickname "Jerk".

Replacing our sandstone brick walls with granite, which is a bit more resilient

The classroom is filling up

That prisoner we forced to incubate an insect pherocore is no more, but we named the empress who chestbursted her after her. An empress under our control acts as a mobile hive and can spawn more insects.

Our freezer is overflowing so we start making food baskets in the tomb, which is also kept below freezing.

Drop pods from The Animal Pack deploy just outside our walls.

Wait... is that?

That's gotta be Boot. He's joined the raiders who kidnapped him so many years ago. We've gotta get rid of this nociosphere thing before it breaks containment in our base, so this seems like a decent time to be rid of it.

It starts deploying psychic pain waves and blasting nearby raiders

The sphere plus combined fire from our guys takes out the raiders quickly. Koze uses her psychic powers to knock Boot out without killing him.

We spent a few more hours firing at the sphere. It's nearly invincible and we're just trying to hold it off. Eventually it teleports away on its own.

Boot is captured and tended to. He's in a warcasket now, which is more or less permanent. He'll definitely be a stronger fighter if we rerecruit him.

Musa and Palatina have their first lightskinned baby.

@Duke's genome editing cycle is complete. It seems he can choose between two sets of superpowers and superweaknesses. He can choose enhanced regeneration+lustful(causes him to sexually assault coworkers frequently) or bulletproof skin+heat intolerance.

This time I remembered to queue up a diplomatic marriage again

Congrats Vitya
Duke don't you dare
For the medical expertise, I am choosing First Aid since it seems like the most worthwhile upgrade. So many things to do, so little time.
I'm so happy to see my baby girl.
I've been thinking of a name for a while now but if I do get a chance to choose her name, I would pick May Cene since it combines my initials while keeping most of her mom's name.

I think I'll go with an Eltex Staff, since I'm a psycaster... right? I'm pretty sure I was. Maybe that was last game.

Episode 38: The New DLC Comes Out In Like 5 Hours And My Mods Won't Be Compatible Anymore
MC grabs the First Aid expertise, which lets him tend wounds more quickly. I've seen many a good pawn succumb seconds before being treated.

His daughter is also named while crawling around an insect hive and exposed wiring

Duke has been given superpowers via the pod. He now heals 10x as fast, but is also so lustful that he constantly hits on everyone

Stack gets his custom persona rod, which he will later drop and lose forever

He decides it's time we put our resources towards getting out of this shithole. The construction of a space ship is approved.

Since Tangerine aspires to get a superpower, he hops in ze pod next

He really can't help himself

The Black Hive arrives...

and engages another hostile insect swarm, mostly wiping each other out for us

Valentina rerecruits Boot after he attacked us. Guess he's stuck in a warcasket now.

Stack has another kid. This one is slightly less draconic

頬白鮫 is run over by several reindeer during a hunting trip. Don't worry, he gets back up and bludgeons them all to death.

Tangerine gets the power to breathe fire, but his weakness is audaciousness which means he can no longer be told what to do.

Diana has invited her half sister, WhiteShark, to join us.

She's grown up to be... completely worthless. If nothing else she can haul stuff around.

GhostCow's wife has a baby while he's away

Tangerine gets to work on the ship

Notorious robosexual Vitya gets married to Yoko

The ship reactor is done. We still need engines, sensors, cryptosleep caskets, and a persona computer core. It's going to take us a while to get all of the resources needed, but it can be built modularly.

But just getting the reactor started attracts hostiles from all over the planet who would like it for themselves. For the next 15 days, we're constantly assaulted by various factions.

Elias starts raising the dead as skeletons

Stack shoots the mortar stockpile in the middle of this siege camp, wiping them out in one blow

Captain is out hauling supplies back to the base when he's blindsided

There's no way he's outrunning that many guns, but he does have a laser targeter for an orbital bombardment from the Imperials.

A salvo rains down, wiping out nearly all of the hostiles and sending the rest running.

He was lucky enough not to be annihilated by the explosions

Buuut he's lost all of his limbs, his spine, and a few assorted organs. He can't die unless his brain is destroyed, and luckily it just barely held on.

Black Dog is hit by an inferno cannon

Vitya tries to save him but is injured and pulled out by Zoth

All that's left of BD are his charred remains.

Endless fighting. The walls are being hit by mortars.

Stack tries to use the resurrection serum on BD, but his corpse is too messed up for it to work. He's gone forever.

A service is held during a break in the action. Truly a strange inscription.

Even more raiders come during the funeral.

Instead of cancelling it, we send all of our tamed insects after them.

Many bugs died to keep things running smoothly

22 refugees volunteer to help out temporarily. We can definitely use the labor, so we take them on.

Captain is recovered and rebuilt using spare parts and prisoner organs. Better than ever!

Sensors module on the right, engines below.

Stack is named Archcount of the Empire.

Steve the tortoise is tragically killed in battle

Koze is just pumping those kids out for Stack

Rusty hooks up with one of the BBW refugees

A silo entrance is located and a team goes to investigate

Inside is a very old, very dark base full of undead and supply caches

Val finds a map leading to more silos. There were a ton of components inside which we need to finish the ship, so we'll definitely be checking them out.

Diana is the first kid to turn 13, meaning she's no longer a child and will be working and fighting full time. Thanks to the decent education and play time she's received plenty of passions and positive traits. She takes up a sword like her father.

Life goes on. The constant raids have stopped, but this is going to take a very long time to complete.

MC's second child is born. Vitya has had both of his eyes shot out again.

After hitting a few more silos, we've heard a broadcast confirming that some zigger will be firing ICBMs armed with deadlife dust into the atmosphere. If we don't stop it, the dust will reanimate the dead all over the planet. Hordes will roam and kill everything they see for years, if not longer.

Our assault team touches down with the helicopter and transport pods.

The zigger is running around activating traps via terminals in his control room. We've got a few minutes until preparations are finished and he launches the warheads.

Everybody splits up. Chutes in the floor are opened, kennels of undead animals are released, and rotstink is pumped through the halls. GhostCow finds the control room.

And instantly splits the commander's head. He didn't put up much of a fight in person.

Elias woos WhiteShark, which technically makes Val his stepfather-in-law. She was born here while her mother was a prisoner. Weird!

The most expensive part of the ship is the amount of caskets needed for our massive colony. Unfortunately, the temperature is rapidly dropping due to climate change.

Temperatures bottom out at -157C / -250F. Vitya succumbs to the cold and dies while working outside of the base.

The resurrection serum does work on him, unlike BD. After this, everybody is strictly stuck inside. The robots will be able to finish the ship for us.

It's so cold that a guest who was visiting died only a few feet outside the front door. Nobody is able to drop by anymore. Even when royals touch down in our landing bay they can't make it inside without freezing to death.

Stack delivers one final inspiring speech from his throne.

Rusty marries his slampig.

And at long last (seriously, this took many IRL hours) the ship is complete. This is how they looked before the latest DLC, don't blame me. A special heated walkway had to be constructed around it so that people would have enough time to get in.

All aboard

All aboard

Ending Slides
Chuck "Boon" Poontaker served as our top surgeon and sniper. He fought well, saved a bunch of lives, and get with a hot catgirl from outer space.

Bootleg "Boot" Shoemaker was captured while bravely cutting down pirates. He was shot in the head and captured. Years later he returned to us, this time on the side of the pirates. We broke the conditioning and he remained a loyal fighter who would go on the most dangerous missions.

John Captain was our immortal heavy weapons specialist. His LMG and miniguns put out more damage than anyone else, and it wasn't even close. After calling down an orbital barrage on himself, 80% of his body had to be replaced.

Chuck Wang was our resident nudist and, ironically, master tailor. He would eventually marry Wai "Waifu" Wang, who entertained guests and cooked many meals. They had one child together, Chase Wang.

Duke Landrunner was the only one brave enough to voluntarily be entombed in a warcasket. He saw more combat than anyone else, and eventually risked his life to develop superpowers which paid off by making him extremely hard to kill.

Elias Stovich was a genius marksman, craftsman, and immortal lich. While not consuming the essence of fallen raiders, he was grooming a child via the communications console. They would eventually reunite and marry. He stepped up to a leadership role when the spot was vacant.

Johnny "Fin" Guitar arrived with his axe and quickly traded it in for a sniper rifle. Sadly, the concert he wanted to play didn't come to fruition. He never scored.

Mick "MC" Cedar was our nurse who never participated in combat. Vitya never understood how he could handle his liquor so well. He had two children with his wife.

GhostCow was an excellent handyman who could also swing a laser sword on the battlefield. He personally prevented Operation Deadlife with a single stroke. He had two daughters with his impid wife.

Big Hoss was responsible for cooking thousands upon thousands of meals. Due to his high shooting skill and lack of a family to look after, he was typically the go-to guy when a frontliner was needed. He just wanted to grill.

Musa of Mali was by far the most intelligent man among us. Not only that, he was the most attractive and well read and innovative. In fact, he's the one who designed the schematics for the ship. He had two children with his coalburner wife, one of which was annoyingly born while they were supposed to be boarding.

Kala "Kalarion" Rion wasn't only the best builder in the colony, he was the best builder on the entire planet. His legendary works are known far and wide. He also served as one of the leaders.

Oscar "Oyster" Sauce was a true jack-of-all-trades. Good at a lot, but not the best at anything. He had 3 children with his wife and there's another on the way.

Ustiv "Stack" Zhelvovich injected himself with a mysterious shot of DNA that turned him into a scalie, much to Elias' ire. He rose through the ranks of the Empire and was the de facto leader of the colony. Thanks to the archotech womb he bought for his wife, he has 3 children with a forth not far behind. Also, they can all breathe fire.

Val Moofia was an eccentric artist who primarily made sculptures out of garbage. He also cut down many raiders, pirates, and bugs with his persona monoblade which could change the weather when it drew blood. He married a woman who we had originally imprisoned and then enslaved, freeing her. They had two children together, including Diana, who joined her father on many silo raids despite being 15.

Vergstarion "Vergil" Ancunin ****** everything up by unearthing the monolith and drawing all sorts of horrors to our base. Because of him, we had to fight off hundreds of monsters and suffer invisible revenants stalking our halls. He was also our best and most active researcher at least. A bullet to the head turned him into a non-verbal autistic savant.

Vitya Belyaev was our mechanitor who eventually became cripplingly addicted to alcohol. That didn't stop him from designing his own wife to spec, though. Together they built idk like 37 or something robotic children. They were responsible for most of the work done around the base by far.

Tanner "Tangerine" Hollingerine was a ******* freak. 10 feet tall, 2000 pounds, refused to fight with anything but his fists. He was practicably invincible and specialized in decapitating his foes with a single uppercut. Truly a man devoted towards becoming the ultimate killing machine.

White "頬白鮫" Shark is the reason why the base was filled with so many half-finished manga translations. Frequently getting sick with bizarre diseases that nobody else was, he even had to be resurrected once. He had one kid with his wife, and our last mech healer serum was used to heal his dementia before departing on the ship. No relation to WhiteShark.

Rusty Shackleford was a humble turtle herder who was responsible for the game giving me literally hundreds, if not thousands, of annoying pings and notifications whenever a tamed animal was killed. He was mostly able to keep the wolves from going feral and attacking us. Mostly. Shacked up with a BBW in the final hour.

Zoth Ique is the reason why we had a base at all. Nearly ever room and hallway was carved out by him. When there was literally nothing left to dig, he started apprenticing under Kalarion.

Jet "Black Dog" Black was a fighter until the end. The end being an inferno blast that cooked him alive and melted the skin from his face. He left behind a widow who never remarried.

Raviola Boyardee was an ancient decrepit woman who succumbed to old age at 521 years old. The harvests were never as bountiful after her demise.

Dorfleet and his wife stayed behind, inheriting the entire base but once again sealing themselves in their bunker.

Dr. Lise also stayed, hoping to one day be able to go outside again and maintain his ARC generator. He kept the slaves.

All these ******* DLC and they can't even be arsed to get the core gameplay into a good state.
You need mods to fix the ******** or add what's missing and there's things even mods can't fix.
Maybe fix and refine the core game completely first?

You may as well not bother replying to my posts if it's to argue anything except concrete facts or your personal opinion. I still probably won't see it.
Reject your retarded-wing political programming and learn to think.
If you can.

Captain nooo! At least he will have children, right?
Blackdog NOOO! We need a son to remember him by.
Elias needs to be put in stocks and eggs thrown at hom for that mockery.
How many tens of thousands of people died trying to assault this base? You should have maxxed out a Mount & Blade sque renown stat that would have deterred all but the most determined and well equipped, like the royals of an empire.
