10. Even MORE streamlined dialogue and rpg system.
11. super powers

They took how many years to make this dogshit? Every planet should be the size of goddam Daggerfall, with proc-gen and handcrafted cities too. Space combat should be so good, they'd made dozens of videos by now, showing off dogfights and boarding raids, but we've only had a glimpse. In a ******* SPACE game. Instead, we know they had to rebuild this game a couple years ago, because it was so godawful. If this is a rpg then so is goddam Elden Ring, or does grouping Elden Ring in rpgs make bethestards nervous?
The space battles are looking like "It's ******* nothing". You jump to a new planet, there's some pirates you gotta fight there, you beam down. No giant Freespace battles with capital ships lazering each other, no boarding abandoned space hulks, no stealthy raids on asteroid mining stations.

Dunno about the rest but 2 has already been deb00nked.

Starfield planets require around 40 mins of walking before hitting any text prompt/barrier.

This is the most depressing point, but it should come as no surprise. That dragon rider game on ps2 had better flight mechanics than Skyrim. Hell, throwing a **** vase in Oblivion felt better than watching creatures fly in Skyrim, so why did I ever think they could do space combat some sort of justice? Still, that was all I wanted out of this game, and they used the NASApunk theme as a copout for shipping an inferior vision than anything they've made before. I guess in that sense, it is more Oblivion than Skyrim. If mods can fix this game, its going to take ten years or longer.

I've already got my copy (It's an early release for Console though, PC will look much better)..

Quick screenshot as proof:

(minor spoilers - just the first few minutes of the game)

Watching NPC's Stare directly into your eyes and striking a pose of leaning against a counter then floating away slowly is actually hilarious.

The most important part is this:

Within 20 hours he saw the same few locations repeated 7 or 8 times each on different planets.

Super disappointing.

If you expected anything else you were delusional. Todd keeps getting away with it.

(These prefab loadouts could be good for modding though.. but this game is gonna get dull fast without mods, enjoy whatever hand crafted **** that you can find then wait a few years.)

They made a big deal about how the snap maps from Doom made it super easy to create all these unique locations. I was expecting at least as many locations as Skyrim and Fallout 4, minimum. Seeing each location 7 or 8 times within 20 hours is really really bad.

:notsureif:

When Todd says "See those 1000 planets?" you should of been running for the hills.. come on.

The only question on my mind is how much will be handcrafted vs procedurally generated slop.
If we get 30 hours of actual thoughtfully made content.. I'll consider it a win.

Unpopular opinion in {current_year} on {current_forum} but Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 were actually **** and shittier.

Elder Scrolls 6 might pull up on the plane before the crash.. but I'm not holding my breath.

It's a tiny number of handcrafted points of interest randomly placed within vast procgen deserts. These few handmade locations are repeated over and over again, with enemies and loot even spawning in the exact same places.

Skyrim had almost 200 handmade dungeons and fallout 4 had about 250. Based on *** Skeptic's review it sounds like Starfield has about 20.

GOOD:
"Vague Buzzwords"
"Gunplay"

BAD:
"Boring and Badly Implemented Space Exploration"
"Poor and Shallow RPG Mechanics"
"Boring Story & Badly Written Dialogue"

Starsisters.. not like this... Emil t-t-told me this would be different... he said we were gonna find the heckin space artifacatarino's ......

(I am lowkey glad that Bethesda is getting dunked on by normies now.. the people who would traditionally swallow a lump of **** and ask for more are finally calling this company out.. this is the only way they start improving. Standards in gaming are just too low)

Suit yourself, but the ****** speaks the truth in this case. I haven't seen a more honest review yet.

Bugs are shown, broken promises brought up. He gives a complete review of how the game actually works - which is nothing like a lot of people assumed it would, but sounds exactly like what I thought it'd be.

Even if BG3 is a pile of ****** ****, at least we get to see a turn-based game steal Bethesda's thunder after all these years.

But BG3 is still a pile of ****** **** though. Don't buy it.
