Lynch also said that product placement is a complete ********, and then immediately filled Twin Peaks s3 with a ton of product placement.

Lynch also talked **** about product placement, and then plastered corpo logos all over Twin Peaks S03.

Maybe he also watches movies on a phone in his spare time, who knows.

KOTOR1 was already plenty disappointing. BioWare got to move the setting thousands of years into the past, yet we're still stuck with Jedi vs Sith, Republic vs Empire, discount Star Destroyers, Stormtroopers, Death Stars et al.

They could have done pretty much anything with the setting, and yet they choose to **** out an inferior, cookie-cutter clone of the original.

If they were going to be unimaginative *****, they should have set the games after the Battle of Endor. At least in that era there's plenty of interesting stuff going on. The Republic fighting against the Imperial remnants, the various Moffs vying for power, Dark Side users popping up all over the place etc.
Of course that's what Bioware wanted to do, but not what they were allowed to do. They could make their RPG, but it could not be part of the "real" SW movie canon or even close to it. So 20 thousand years or whatever before the movies was the official timeline. That would make it ultra-super-sure that it wouldn't clash with the movies.

But Bioware still wanted to make an RPG lifted straight from the movies, so they did. Just ignore the timeline. It's really a blatant movie ripoff RPG, as it was always intended to be.

A(nother) KoTOR 3 mod campaign has been released recently. The first episode, anyway. It even takes your choices from 1 and 2 into account somewhat. Probably awful but mite be cool :)
Revenge of Revan is sequel to The Knights of the Old Republic 2 (Sith Lords).

The game takes place 8 years after kotor2 where you will find the Jedi Order starting to rebuild as they find their place in the Republic that has been absent from the Jedi Order for some years.

An event on Corellia will set events in motion as you try to unravel this mystery before it's too late.

RoR is a stand alone original story that allows you, the player, to continue your saga with whatever choices you made in kotor1 and kotor2 whether you use the canon setup or your own personal version. The mod is a bridge between kotor2 and SWTOR. You will see cameos and interact with some former characters from kotor1 and kotor2, depending on your choice setup.
New original story
Well over 50 PC heads including aliens with the ability to wear headgear.
Species optional based attributes setup.
Around 3 hours of gameplay
Some New original music tracks
Dialogue options based on your Jedi Class
Characters will at times react to your species choice
Limited VO for low level human NPCs
Choosing Revan and Jedi Exile’s Alignment and Gender will impact RoR

Is this the one that's been quit and restarted like 100 times or is that the other one?

They did the same gay **** with Mass Effect and Cyberpunk. Still, interesting to see how far back this kinda thing went. When was "canon Exile is a woman" first stated anyways?

In materials that the people who wrote and created KOTOR II and its characters had no input on :)

The reveal of the first game blew my mind as a child, I loved it. I put Bastila in her underwear and got hard for one of the first times and didn't understand what was happening.

I didn't understand anything going on in 2 but finished it still. The final boss stuck with me.

I think I only replayed the first game to completion ten years later. I don't think I'll replay them again but I'll always have fond memories of both.

I tried like two years ago but they were not agreeing with my high-framerate monitor. I switched to an older laptop in the meantime so despite what I said I might in the future. I suspect I'll discover many meanings and nuances that eluded me the first times. I feel like I opened up my eyes to the world very recently. I was too stressed and unhappy before. Messageboards and now forums help. I've been spoiled on the evil path for the first game, but it could still be fun. I always played a goody-two-shoes. I also recently started upping the difficulty of the RPGs I play, so that could add another new layer to the experience.

I'm now remembering Korriban and how I loved finding old Sith artifacts in the tombs. Hmm.

And from what I read the second game has a lot to offer too. Would you guys recommend the restoration mod?

People generally recommend the restoration mod without the optional droid planet module

Cyberpunk was especially hilarious - not only did they change the advertisting to the female V, but they also made her uglier, despite the fact that every woman playing Soyberpunk makes their female V as attractive as they can manage.

The Restoration mod is nearly mandatory - KOTOR 2 had a rough development with a lot of content that should have been in the game cut. Just don't install the droid planet addon, it's mostly made by modders, going on very loose scraps of information, and it shows.

Interesting. Thank you for the tag.
The thing was that I switched to Linux recently, and I was struggling with games and mods installations to say the least.
But! I just learned ten minutes ago how to install mods from .exe files in Linux in a specific Wine prefix to go with the Heroic Games Launcher so I should be good for when I'll decide to play. I'll probably just use Community Fixes for KotOR; and TSLRM, Community Fixes and Extended Enclave for TSL. Cheers!

We can earn a KOTOR badge? Is that an ongoing thing or was it limited time?
