RPGs in which you play as a nazi
Not necessarily literal nazi as in German citizen in 1930s who has some doubts about some other nations and believes they need to suffer for the good of the Third Reich, but very close, i.e. a fantasy world citizen who has doubts about other citizens and believes they need to suffer for the good of *something*.
Not sure if I described it well, but I'm sure you get the point.
And please, no "it's nazi, but actually he's a good guy." It's not what I mean. I mean literal asshole who will murder others because "it's for the greater good." Not a case in which when he won't murder them then some others will die. He will murder them because they are a stain to the country's image.
No parody games either. Yes, I'm sure there is somewhere some jRPG in which you play as Hitler and have funny dialogs because being nazi is funny or whatever. No. I mean games in which developers were genuine, games in which they meant you to think like a nazi and become a nazi.
I know only one such game.
Nameless one there is completely unscrupulous, has no pity, no compassion, no mercy, and is full of nationalism to the extreme.
Someone's pigeons shat someone elses roof? Death sentence.
Someone ashamed his parents? Death sentence.
Someone uses illusion magic to make animals look better for the buyer? Death sentence. No, not to the cheater. To animals.
Ah! A patriot! So do a service to Myrtana! Use your muscles... Butcher his animals. In return for this favor I will give you some gold and recommendation letter. What do you think?
All with dialogs full of patriotism and nationalism:
Only I know what's good for Myrtana. Do not try...
He has to die, if it's true. Scum like him cannot breathe Myrtana's air.
Are there other such thought-provoking games?

Does Tyranny count? Sure, the game has the problem of pussing out of the main advertisement point of "play as the bad guy" and gave a clichéd "you're gonna turn on you evil boss and fight for freedom" gay story and it was full of feminist propaganda and Newspeak ("women and men," "daughters and sons," etc.).
But it was fun to play as a hardcore evil son of a bitch. Like throwing that waterbender bitch off a tower just to deliver a note to your forces on the ground or systematically slaughtering that one illegally settled town after their "mayor" says to you "You won't do shit because we outnumber you." That smug fucking cunt wasn't smug for long.

I will never be able to take a manlet "Dark Lord" seriously, no matter how spiky his armor is.

World of Warcraft during the Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria expansions, when Garrosh Hellscream was Warchief of the Horde. Garrosh envisioned his "True Horde" as being the one and only rightful rulers of the world, and anything outside of his True Horde was to be crushed. Including members of his own Horde who did not go along with his vision, he wanted those "traitors" dead too. In the final chapter of the MoP storyline, he was having Trolls and Huojin Pandaren (Horde races) being executed in the streets of Orgrimmar for voicing dissent. Lots of questlines where you get to evilish stuff like picking up a shovel and splitting open the heads of human farmers buried up to their necks in dirt, performing horrific live experimentation upon human captives to perfect chemical weapons and plagues and then deploying them in invasions, etc. Eventually however all Horde players are railroaded into joining the rebellion against Garrosh, but it was very popular to RP as Garrosh loyalists.
Also, the Horde during the Battle for Azeroth expansion, when Sylvanas was Warchief of the Horde. She starts a war because of double think, where simultaneously the Horde is strong, but also weak and vulnerable so she has to perform a sneak attack and wipe out a member civilization of the Alliance to have a chance of winning. And also, again dissenters are executed. You get quests to gas Alliance. The devs learned from the popularity of Garrosh loyalist RP and when it came time for the rebellion arc, Blizzard allowed players to choose whether to become a Sylvanas loyalist or join the rebellion against her, though the story always ends with her overthrow.

Caesar's Legion is at least as close to the average liberals view of what Fascism is as you will get as a playable faction.

I loved Phantasy Star 4 and consider it a 8/10 on my scale. Never played Online, though.

I guess Fallout 4 has two flavors with the Brotherhood and Institute if you view synths as an allegory for niggers.
Although that's stretching the definition of RPG quite a lot.

That's probably why he turned to evil. "Fools, fools, I'll show them ALL!" is a powerful motivator. In world where you'll never get any respect because you look like that, Evil is your only advancement path. Evil is ultimately meritocratic.logincrash wrote: ↑ May 24th, 2024, 18:41I will never be able to take a manlet "Dark Lord" seriously, no matter how spiky his armor is.
You know whoever wrote that was referring to Ashley
But nazis were the good guys. I think the hardest thing is reversing peoples programming about "killing others bad" without fully understanding the context of the actions. It's killing a drug dealer bad when you know he's going to be ruining people's lives? Is killing a rapist wrong? How about a pornographer? It's illegal, yes, and i would never condone such actions, but I don't think it's wrong at all depending on the context. Some people just have to die.Konjad wrote: ↑ May 24th, 2024, 18:35Not necessarily literal nazi as in German citizen in 1930s who has some doubts about some other nations and believes they need to suffer for the good of the Third Reich, but very close, i.e. a fantasy world citizen who has doubts about other citizens and believes they need to suffer for the good of *something*.

This is why most men like action and war movies, we actually want to subjugate and destroy without mercy but modern society holds us back.

Look at the user you are responding to.

I approve of this thread. If only there were actual games to recommend...
I guess, New Vegas when siding with the Legion (the only objectively good choices), in Arcanum you can discover some very disturbing things about a certain race, and there's a mod for Morrowind that lets you adopt a nationalist stance and reject the silly notion that argonians aren't farming equipment.

Can't hold it against him. Maddie is Polish too and doesn't display any of the worrying ideals Konjad holds.
