The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu - Chileans can develop videogames

Post by Yankee Zulu »

In up to four player co-op, form a group of explorers searching for treasure. In this cursed jungle, danger is everywhere and monstrous creatures alter reality. Stay clear-headed and tame the jungle before it devours you…

ACE team is from Chili. They are known for Zeno Clash series. The first game came out in 2009. I don't remember **** about it but it was good supposedly.

My Steam review of Zeno Clash:
Any game that let's me punch women and furries right in the face is a triple A title in my book.

Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages were good, their other games - not so much, sadly. ACE Team has killer artists, but lacks in the gamedesign department.

I wish this was just a 'based conquistadors vs pagan savages' type of game, without the tired lovecraftian deckbuilder thing going on.

The Mound is inspired by the stories of H.P. Lovecraft with their oppressive and unpredictable atmospheres.

Quote from The Mound
I am white and Eastern enough myself, but anybody is welcome to know that the rites of Yig, Father of Snakes, can get a real shudder out of me any day. I have heard and seen too much to be “sophisticated” in such matters. And so it is with this incident of 1928. I’d like to laugh it off—but I can’t.

It's a primarily multiplayer game, according to a dev in the steam forums.
The single player experience is not their main focus.
