I had trouble getting into it, but EYE Divine Cybermancy is probably worth trying

Anyone knows fun racing games to play with others? Anything at all really, any graphics or time period (even something like that phone Mario Kart game). I would prefer something that is fun over just being competitive (like dirt and grass doing effects when moving onto, destructible items, silly happenings, acrobatic ramps, water, different maps, etc) I just thought it would be fun as a possible addition to play with people from here

My brother and I play Wreckfest mostly for race stuff when he's over. Used to play Dirt Showdown but haven't in a fews years and Gas Guzzlers ( has combat/guns/missles etc. BUT... they stopped online servers or something a while back and we can't play together anymore, they ****** it all up so that's down to SP only now. Wreckfest is our go to though.

The MotorStorm games are pretty great, though you'll probably need to emulate them.DagothGeas5 wrote: β April 24th, 2025, 15:39Anyone knows fun racing games to play with others? You have Steam I take it?, I think I have an extra key for Wreckfest and Dirt Showdown key from some testing way back that I never used if you want it to try it out, not sure if it'll work where you live but you can try them.

I am liking every single one of these that I saw, thank you both for sharing!
Also, Classix, I read up on Gus Guzzlers and also found out that Dirt Showdown was actually delisted from Steam. It seems you can still play it if you owned it before (and it seems it can be found online somewhere too) but I thought you should know

Are you only looking for immersive sims and adjacent, or does anything go?Fox1 wrote: β April 22nd, 2025, 23:44Looking for a game that has similar mechanical depth, atmosphere and exploration as Deux Ex. Do any exist?
System Shock 2 is not as imsimmy as Deus Ex, but it has much greater build and playstyle variety, lots of exploration and mechanical depth (researching enemies to more effectively fight them and unlock weird weapons, psi powers, various ammo types, equipment, skills etc.).
Prey is probably the peak of the immersive sim genre, with lots of cool and unique mechanics and a myriad ways to complete your objectives.
If you're into exploration, Thief 1 and 2 have some great maps for that (and even more fan missions) - nothing beats a big, chunky city mission with lots of optional buildings to break into and explore, but the game lacks the "permanence" of other immersive sims - there's no carryover of equipment, no character building etc.
An alternative is Gloomwood - it's not really Thief, since stealth is usually quite optional and the player character is powerful enough to cause all kinds of mayhem, but it has the satisfying exploration of big city missions from the Thief games, which becomes very apparent once you reach the city proper. There's no character building, but with the new research mechanic you can use the body parts of the various monsters you've slain to brew serums to turn yourself into one of them, plus you have a briefcase inventory and an ever-expanding selection of gear.
Obvious as it may be, the two DX prequels are both good games. Not as good as the original, but if you're looking for something to scratch that itch, they're about as good as it's going to get.
Rusty already recommended Arx Fatalis, and it's a game I love very much. If you do like that one, take a look at its spiritual prequels, Ultima Underworld 1 and 2, or Monomyth, an indie game that draws heavy inspiration from those games.
You may want to try GZDoom games/mods like Hedon and Ashes 2063/Afterglow/Hard Reset. The former takes a lot of inspiration from Arx Fatalis, rewards exploration, but is basically a boomer shooter. The Ashes games are also big on exploration, play like Build Engine shooters, but with Afterglow and Hard Reset actually have an open-world, side quests, secrets to uncover and weapon upgrading, along with unparalleled atmosphere. Wait until Ashes wants to get spooky, it's really something.
Great suggestions here found stuff for myself even. I adore Double Dash cause of the unique items and rather tight courses. I would go and and suggest Split Second, great out of the frame racing game, still has MP available but you need to do some configuring. Old Trackmanias for acrobatic stuff, there are so many buggy mess tracks even in multiplayer server rotations it boomerangs back to being a fun game
Yeah I forgot I had Split/Second too, not a legit copy but it was a blast playing SP at least, didn't know they still have MP up. Might have to remind little bro about this.Rumbles wrote: β April 24th, 2025, 20:13Great suggestions here found stuff for myself even. Do share them with others here though if you may want to! Especially for Dirt Showdown as, if it is delisted, it may be a rare thing to own!

I know this is a bit late but if you do decide to play this game, make sure to play it with this mod. It is THE definitive way to play this game. Hands down!
It allows for so much more variety when it comes to the battlefields you fight in, all recruitable Pokemon have unique typings now, rebalanced skills + movesets so more strategies are viable, improved AI that takes advantage of said improvements, custom sprites/battle animations, and choosable Eeveelution starter for your preferred type.
The only setbacks this mod has are no custom cries, some hardcoded enemies, and lack of animations due to limitations.

I am looking for a game that is similar to Sons of the Forest that allowed for a "Hobbit style" home to be build in a sort of barrow that I presumed was dug out by the player (I saw presumed as it seemed he dug it out himself, but I did not see the process so I cannot say for certain). I saw this game being played by AZ (HeelvsBabyface) some time ago when I was sick, and I only tuned in for a small amount of time but I recall he was inside a home he built that he was reinforcing with stone (the building mechanic seemed quite fleshed out and, not sure if it was for immersion purposes or not, but he also had support beams on the area still made of dirt of the home). I recall he was going around and out of the house and was quite proud of what he was building.
The game reminded me of Valheim at first, but this game I am sure was not Valheim because it being a different game was the reason it captivated me as I had been watching his Valheim streams and then it suddenly was this game (though I lost many and was usually watching the video format of the stream).
I had a mind to believe it may be Medieval Dynasty, but I am not sure as I lost his series for that game. There is a lot the two seem to have in common with what I have seen, but AZ's home there, that I saw, is nothing like the one I remember, unless he made several or something of the sort.
I recall there was no snow outside, there was more of a grassland that I recall.

As others told me on Discord, the game I was looking for might also be Enshrouded (which AZ played, and that I am sure I would have wanted to see what it was about) but I can look for it from here by seeing his playthroughs and see if I can find that scene I recall.
Making a new post, though, because I have another game I wish to find. This one is a bit different though as it was a free flash game. It had a lot in common (mechanic and graphic wise) with Metal Slug. The game was about someone I refer to as "ninja" that had a long red scarf and was shooting his way across some metallic buildings. There were a lot of clouds and wonderful music that I recall, there also were helicopter attacks and they could be, like in Metal Slug, destroyed with pieces flying off. The same being the case for large machines (typical huge "quadruped turret droids") and other items that I recall.

Red scarf immediately made me thing of Shinobi for the PS2, but that's a 3D game, so it can't fit. Can you try looking at trailers of older Shinobi titels, since those were in 2D?DagothGeas5 wrote: β May 7th, 2025, 22:15Making a new post, though, because I have another game I wish to find. Problem here is that the vast majority of side-scrollers that feature a ninja protagonist tend to also feature him fighting machines and robots.
Do you remember if it was a recent game, or something from the 90s or early 00s?
How about Guns of Fury? Not really a ninja protagonist, but he has a red bandana and is shooting enemies akin to those in Metal Slug, it even has a similar artstyle.
EDIT: Just saw it was a flash game, sorry.

The game I am looking for is a flash game, but while I do not believe it is Strider, I can see a resemblance to the character I am looking for in this image, though the character I know was more akin to something out of Metal Gear than to "anime style" so to speak

I am also intrigued to try this game as it reminds me of the old Prince of Persia, so thank you for sharing!
To clarify, I call him "ninja" due to the scarf, but he had no ninja abilities or things of the sort, he was more akin to some dude with a long red scarf (the scarf acted like that sort of ragdoll that would follow him around or "fly in the wind", so to speak).

Could it be a Contra-related or inspired flash game? Though its not a scarf, Contra's "Lance Bean" character does have a long red bandana. The gameplay is somewhat Metal Slug-like in that its a difficult platformer/shooter mix.

I'm in the mood for playing a classic dwarf fighter. A half-ton of armour and beard, thick shield, axe or hammer, every swing hits like a freight truck. What's a game where it feels particularly good?
