Censorship is Implied Endorsement (Also, HQ Mods)

NexusMods and ModDB have continued removing mods for single-player games they personally disagree with under the shield of "Diversity and Inclusion".
Image

Not only have the mods themselves come under scrutiny, but the individuals behind them are also under the spotlight. ModDB has taken the unprecedented step of auditing the social media accounts of mod authors to determine their "suitability". If no fault can be found within the mod, the behavior or opinions of its creators become the deciding factor for its removal.
Image

While NexusMods and ModDB have every right to manage their platforms as they see fit, the subjective removal of content does raise some thought-provoking questions about implicit endorsement of those not removed. If a mod is removed for its perceived failure to align with 'Diversity and Inclusion,' what does that say about the mods that are allowed to stay? Take, for example, mods that permit morally disturbing acts such as murdering children in-game.
Image
On one hand, mods are removed on the grounds of fostering "Diversity and Inclusion" for removing recent sociopolitical trends. But on the other hand, mods that add content considered morally questionable by most people are allowed to remain.

HQ Mods

We offer a dedicated file hosting service along with a forum for sharing and discussing mods. We are currently in the process of developing improved mod hosting support, which will include intuitive front-ends designed to streamline the process for both mod creators and consumers.

HQ Mods will let gamers dictate their own experiences when they play their games. We do not and will not remove mods simply because they clash with our moral or ideological perspectives as long as the content is legal.

It's not illegal to depict child murder in fictional works. See Fallout 1 & 2.

I want this to be an RPG/vidya focused site first, and the mods be the cherry on top. Bring people interested in video games, not only the culture wars. There aren't that many "forbidden" mods to make it the entire identity of the site.

ModHQ could operate perfectly well as a sister-site, and simplifying the URL for branding purposes might make sense.

You shouldn't worry too much about Humbaba. He is retarded (Turk) and rates around the 3rd worst forum member if you include people who asked to have their accounts nuked. His name comes from Hebrew and is a shortened version of "hummer baba" aka "hummer daddy" meaning he likes to perform fellatio (it only coincidentally is the same as the Mesopotamian mythological or Dragon Wars character). He can't help it though as he was raised as a jannisary and honestly doesn't know any better.

B-but... Yeniçeri were actually damn fine warriors, with iron discipline and great skills in their mixed armament. I don't particularly hate Humbaba (u know me) but I don't see him as a 15th century action hero, no. :Inspector:

(I'm talking end result of their conditioning as warrior here, not endorsing the moral behind abducting Christian children to brainwash them into slave soldiers)

I believe that there is an exception to this rule if the sexual depiction of a child is a "work of art". What that means in practice is that, if the lolicon is in 2D format, it is allowed, while if the lolicon is in 3D format, it is not allowed. I'm not sure about this law, but that's what Null from Kiwi Farms said.

So basically, I did further research on the subject of loli and have discovered that loli and bestiality porn are both illegal in the US. While bestiality porn is TECHNICALLY not illegal in the US on a federal level, only four states do not have a law prohibiting it. So unless the RPG HQ servers are located somewhere in Hawaii, New Mexico, West Virginia, or Wyoming, it is best not to host any zoophiliac content. The only exception to this rule is the so-called "Miller Test". Basically, it comes from a court case called "Miller v. California" in which a man selling porn was tried for obscenity. The case ended with the US Supreme Court deciding to adopt a new measurement for what is considered obscene in the US:

1. whether the average person, applying contemporary "community standards," would find that the work, taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest;

2. whether the work depicts or describes, in an offensive way, sexual conduct or excretory functions, as specifically defined by applicable state law (the syllabus of the case mentions only sexual conduct, but excretory functions are explicitly mentioned on page 25 of the majority opinion); and

3. whether the work, taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.

All three of these rules must be met in order to legally distribute loli and/or bestiality and not break any obscenity laws. In my opinion, no loli and no bestiality mods should be allowed on HQ Mods regardless of whether they pass this test or not, unless you wanna go to court and argue whether or not something passes the Miller Test every time one of these mods runs afoul of some legislator or official.
