Rune Factory 3 Special Releases 09/05

Post by ontopoly »

Rune Factory 3 is getting a remaster for switch and steam and it's releasing on the 5th of September. Anyone going to be playing it? Not like anything else is releasing any time soon. I played the original way back and it was good. This seems to just be a graphics over haul and helps by making it available on current systems rather than the DS.

Despite looking weeb, this is actually a strong push against modern degeneracy. What are some of the values that Rune Factory 3 can teach you?

1. Strong work ethic

With the increasing laziness and want to blame all your miseries on someone else that is so characteristic of this new generation, media needs to be held to a high standard that fits the claim art has always pretended to hold; moral and ethical lessons in the form of themes. Unfortunately, most media does not do this but instead actively poisons and corrupts the youth, and even adults, into mental traps that end up dragging them down. How many video games like the Persona series push this narrative that society and institutions are horrible and the man is holding us down, rebel against the system, rebel against norms, and rebel against societal standards; giving us an excuse to push responsibility, along with accountability, onto somebody else and off of our selves? Rune Factory 3 goes against this trend. This game promotes hard work and independence. Grow crops, farm a field, protect your town, work hard. All these things are in this game and are encouraged by showing them in a kind and positive light, and as something to be proud of.

2. Community

Suicide rates. Divorce rates. birth rates. Loneliness epidemic. disenfranchisement. antiestablishmentarianism. All things that are rampant in todays society. Put down the phones and all the misconceptions of the people living around you in society. Instead, talk to people around you, help them out, be a part of a community and get to know them on a personal level rather than making large assumptions based on what group or class they belong to. In Rune Factory 3, you become engrained in a society of a variety of characters and get to realize that not everybody is a walking caricature of what's in your head. The solution of the woes of today's society is to find a sense of community and live a fulfilling life, rather than an isolated, lonely and jaded one. Anti social attitudes must die. Rune Factory 3 encourages this by including a large cast of characters and plenty of reason to get out there and talk with them. With the increasing encouragement for isolation caused by modern societies push for individualism, it's refreshing for a game to push for things like sacrifice, community, and good old fitting in. Individualism is a stain that needs to be countered by community and family. We should all give a part of ourself to the betterment of others and individualism puts all focus solely on one's self and only considers others when it effects the self (including "reciprocal altruism")

3. Good traditional values

With the increasing taint of modernity and individualism being pushed onto people through the many forms of media(BG3), Rune Factory 3 is a bulwark against modernity and a return to good ol' traditional values.

Play as a man. Marry a woman. With the game forcing this combination on you, it normalizes and enforces the values that you hold dear. Raise a family. Have a good job, work hard, earn a living. If the culture war centers around children, what better way than to reach them through video games? If you're not a child, don't think that this corruption can't reach you either. Garbage in, garbage out. An adult confident in his values and morals is still susceptible and thinking anything else is pure arrogance. Surround yourself with good. Rune Factory 3 stands firmly in delivering good traditional values to you.

4. Sexual immorality

Rune Factory 3 is a strong push against things like promiscuity that we see in so many games. Want to be with a woman? Commit to her publicly in front of your community. Give her the guarantees, protections, stability, and security that marriage provides. No one night stands, secret relations, pump and dumps, taking advantage of a moment, 7 year relationships that go no where and leave a women scrambling later on in life due to your incompetence and irresponsibility to commit and practice love responsibly. To all the women out there: if a man cares about you he will commit to you. To all the men out there: if you care for her, you will commit to her and treat her with the dignity that commitment affords. Get married in Rune factory 3 before approaching her in the way that men approach women, in contrast to videogame's typical pump and dump, blasse, cowboy diplomacy approach to sex and relationships. Romance doesn't end with marriage but begins with marriage, and this is only pushed further by the game including the 'newly married feature.'

It's clear that Rune Factory 3 is a strong push against modern degenerate culture and is exactly the type of game we need in today's climate.
