Likely going to use an OSR rules system. Investigating Dungeon Crawl Classics, Old School Reference and Index Compilation, and Old School Essentials. But I'll check others too. :dice2:
Maybe try GURPS (Transhuman Space) or Traveller? (I haven't tried them, only read the rules long time ago.)

D&D HP bloat, etc. is so passe. Though Stars Without Number seems okay (there's a free version I can PM).

Sure, I'm down. Here's hoping it's brainlet friendly.

I'll probably abstain if the roachfag is playing tho.

Can we start character creation already? Because rolling for stats and shit was very fun for Iren's PbP.

Don't tell Iren but tbh making char gen before we knew anything about the setting and the rules still being a bit homebrewed was too confusing for me. I am hopeful with Rustys answer that he will give the framework beforehand.

Worlds Without Number fits really close with the setting, which isn't mandatory but means I don't have to convert much.

WWN can be grabbed for free(Google it) if you want to look into it, paid version just adds a couple things. It will give you an idea of the setting, too. Definitely used the same source material, I'll pull from this too likely

Still working on the setting, but I updated the title.
Science fantasy? Now we're talking.

Also congrats on discovering Gemini. My prolific artistry is attracting imitators :smug:

Dungeon Crawl Classics
Leaning towards this because it's cool and has its own identity.
Goodman Games (woke company) has this rulebook for sci fantasy:

https://goodman-games.com/store/product ... ng-game-2/

It's a fun book that I have here, you probably can find a pdf for it, it might give you ideas that you want to use.

SRD for WWN comes in at under 100 pages if you wanted to leaf thru it without the fluff of the full book

@rusty_shackleford, BTW, if you want science fantasy, maybe you could try to look at Exalted. It's White Wolves's pure fantasy about heroes and demigods, with mechanics good enough to create spaceships/astral ships, mecha, megaprojects and long-term campaigns. Change the setting and you might be golden. It has several power tiers, Solar exalted being too OP for their own good, and Terrestrial exalted being your everyday heroes.

Just as an alternative to an endless D&D, you know. :)

What I have skimmed through looks fun. I wouldn't mind using this ruleset. Classes, char gen, advancement all look pretty well thought out.

Just tell us which rulesets we use and we can start Chargen.

I thought Stars without Number is the one that works for Sci fi/fantasy

Do you have an ETA on when we'll get a break down of the setting? I want to start coming up with ideas for what my character is gonna be like but I want to know what sort of setting and limits I'm working with here.

Never. There will never be any PbP games. It's just a setup to an April Fools prank in a few days.

@rusty_shackleford make sure humbaba plays, so the fags need to play with him or make their own game.

So I'm guessing there will be three PbP threads? Brazilian Pipedream, Rusty Pipedream and whoever else wants to try.

Considering 90% of people don't want him around it'd be pretty easy to just ignore his presence and act like he doesn't exist.

Leave it to the Goyman to reject any notion of something succeeding because he himself would not be able to make it happen.

I'd want to be the guy that grabs Kal or someone by the collar of their 'Powered Xetatech Chestplate +1' and tell them to "get the h-....get the hell OUTTA HERE!" While I stay behind to set the bomb off and drain the drum going down in a blaze of glory for the boys to make it out and carry on. Ahhh the thought feelsgoodman.
