are there any must have mods on https://mod.io/g/baldursgate3? I just finished setting up my 455 mods game for one last playthrough but don't have any willpower left to sift though that site. it's only nexus and rpghq mods that i use. thanks for the feedback.

Curious about this, too. I haven’t had a chance to sift through mod.io, but I assume it’s mostly used to host the same mods for consoles

found this mod

https://mod.io/g/baldursgate3/m/facial-animations

that is mod.io exclusive and potentially interesting. may be more. most are just nexus clones.

@loregamer , could you or someone else with enough wisdom on the matter also post something about proper load orders for BG3 mods?

Posted this (wrongly) in the BG3 forum yestereve:

Right... Load order messed up, most likely. Using BBA.
Any ideas why Obelia Toobin would lose her face like this? Only newly installed mods are a Viconia face mod (a bit more like her own self in BG2) and a not dignifying Viconia robe mod. 😛
https://f.rpghq.org/LsGdR6Qd97jq.jpeg?n ... toobin.jpg

Load order, probably wrong:
https://f.rpghq.org/5bsOR6DKCwiI.jpeg?n ... _wrong.jpg

I'll try and put the new Viconia face model (063) higher up in the load order (025) and see if that helps.

My load order is simply from 000 to 999. Simple minds, simple solutions.
Ignore the .bak files.
I have played the game approx to Gortash battle with a Tav char before with the same mods (except the Viic mods), didn't run into this problem then (about 6 months ago, stuck to patch 6 because of some initial trouble with patch 7).

Yeah I can do that

At a glance, there’s nothing unusual from your list other than needing to put Compatibility Framework last, not early

Oh, well that changes everything LOL

Patch 7 was a pretty significant update so all the “best practices” advice I could give may be inapplicable for everyone up to date, especially since they added modding support built-in.

Also, I’m worried about all your mods actually being Patch 6. I would just update :salute:

If you stay on Patch 6, you still need Mod Fixer

I am waiting to start a new playthrough on patch 8. Will remove all Tav mods, because I really think this game requires an origin protagonist (just my opinion).
But WHEN that happens... do I still need the BG3 ModManager and all those customizer, comp.framework and comm.library mods, or are they outdated from patch 7?
(in case of the mod manager, is the Larian one good enough to use that instead of good ol' mod manager?)

And I guess those at the top really should go at the bottom in my load order also on patch 6 , judging from your statement

"At a glance, there’s nothing unusual from your list other than needing to put Compatibility Framework last, not early"

?

Never mind. Been looking for something like this, finally. :-)
https://wiki.bg3.community/en/Tutorials ... load-order

EDIT: This will probably have to be solved in next playthrough. Removed the Vic face mod altogether, but problem persists (but I guess this is something that can be written to save games and so "corrupt" them?). So,my guess now is that I messed up at one point in the load order for Immersive Heads and BBA. I DID some changes to load order before starting this playthrough.

Ah well. What's a few headless gnomes in the big picture of ...stuff.

The ingame mod manager kinda sucks and has no mod load order setting. And some of our mods don't show up unless it's packaged a specific way. Override mods get completely hidden.

I would stick with BG3MM just for overall convenience

Not outdated, they still work

To be honest, if I were this guy, I would just upload a nothingburger update so people aren't like "wen update". Big brain modder move even if your mod required no changes whatsoever LOL
I would've just made a really minor change and append "Updated to work on patch x" to the changelog because I am evil and want the praise of the masses

Community Library early, Compatibility Framework last in load order, always

Did you by any chance ever mess with the game's loose files? (Unpacking something into the Data folder where the pak files are, I mean)

That can cause a ton of issues

In that case, I humbly request that the link to the mod fixer be removed from the list on the opening post. It's currently under the "Essentials". Thankfully, I checked the last page on the thread but otherwise I would had downloaded it and installed it since I am finally ready to give this shite a second chance now that we have some of the degeneracy purged.

By the way, thanks to everyone involved in cleansing the game from the degeneracy.

Removed Mod Fixer. I'll probably update the whole list later. It's definitely outdated and missing new stuff

E.g., vtex to tex? Yes. But thought that only affected items and environment textures (rocks and stuff). But could be the culprit; was installed before start of last playthrough.

I smell a reinstall anyway. 🤪

OooooK... reinstall done, updated Mod Manager to latest version, read the mod load order thingy...
But I noticed even before I started messing with mods, when I launched the game right after having installed it, that I get this overlay/dialog box when I try to change settings and even close the game. The only way to get rid of it is to press enter twice (?). Anyone familiar with this? :-O
I am using GOG patch 7 hf 3.

https://f.rpghq.org/tiOGs3sBCbJc.png?n= ... _twice.png

..AAAAnd it seems I get an endless loop when trying to start a new game. I am no rocket scientist, but I know something is wrong here. :eyebrows:

...seems Customizer was the culprit, but there a couple of mods that I liked on patch 6 that don't work anymore. :-/
Customizable backgrounds and skills, for example.

Would you guys want a Nexus userscript that labels mods and authors as not recommended, broken, gay, jewish, etc? Sorta like a curated content thing

Better to just not use nexus in that case.
It's like having glasses that rate people with degrees of faggotry in a gay bar.

Very much, yes.

Sadly, Nexus is a necessary evil if you want to engage in any serious modding. There are good modders there that avoid the insanity and just use the platform because it's convenient and popular.

True but I think it'd still be good for easy visibility on if a mod is broken and if there's an alternative mod for it. I'm thinking we basically maintain a dictionary of all this stuff, and showing that some authors are gay and lame would be an autistic accessory I add

Sounds like a lot of effort for something that could be easily discerned by reading each specific mod's summary (which is expected of anyone actually downloading them anyway). Alternative mods would be useful for mod packs (see Nexus Collections :yuck:) but who uses those?

Seems like a good way to find out that all of the mods you're going to download anyway are made by tranny pedophiles :dice:

Script is done. I have it fetch jsons so we can update and maintain a list without users having to update the script

I think you guys will truly see how rampant and horrible Nexus is, especially with the permission policies. I spent 10 minutes thinking my script was bugged and not showing "Open Permissions" tag, until I realized that authors just always close their fucking permissions. It's awful. I was close to making a burner account and uploading a junk mod just to test it
Image

Anyway, I'll send the script here soon. Will post it as a mod. If you guys have any grudges, authors, or mods you hate, lemme know and I will tag them
