i did some testing today. clear wheather but only quarter of moon. nvg30 was still chugging in passive in medium dense forest.
with ir light i could see up to 200-300 meters but thing about ir if there are some objects near it will reflect and dimm anything behind them so it often works best in passive when in forest.

i made rookie mistake with not adjusting helmet padding but no matter padding this thing wont work on dirt bike. not cause lag or field of view but vibrations will move it around enough to fuck with short eye relief. unless its very smooth road. for walking or slow jog its fine.

gyroscope compass can easily lose calibaration, not sure why. when device turns on it must be held steady for like first 3 seconds for it to calibrate properly but not sure if/how it loses zero later. gyroscope north is bit different than magnetic btw.
