Overview
Tired of scrolling through mods made by anime twinks? Ever wanted to play a Dragonborn that doesn't sound like a character out of a woman's romance propaganda novel?
Look no further! Here is a more Dragon'y sounding Dragonborn!
Alters Tav Voices 1,3,5,7 and Durge into Dragonborn Voices. Dragonborn5D shares the same line with Voice5, and Dark Urge.
Installation Instructions
Simply drag the .pak file into the BG3 Mod Manager and leave it in the override panel; this method worked for me. If that doesn't work, right-click on the file and choose 'Add to Load Order'.
Just remember, each mod is assigned a unique number. Mods with identical numbers cannot be stacked. For instance, 'Dragonborn1' will not be compatible with 'Dwarf1'. Some voices attach better than others with the original Tavs, that's why there are 4 each. Enjoy, lemme know in the comments which ones you like better.
Maybe I'll use it for an aesthetics audio pak for DB NPC's as well.
That would be awesome. NPCs having unfitting voices is the last piece missing.
Wholeheartedly agree. I haven't gotten far enough into the game yet to meet anyone besides Quil Grootslang, but I was immensely disappointed at how human she sounded. It felt like her being a dragonborn was purely cosmetic as her voice in no way sounded like it could have come from that face. Wish Larian had taken notes from how Argonians are voiced in ESO, personally. Their voices are perfect for reptile folk.
Tangent: Pretty disappointed overall with the voice direction for many NPCs; too modern sounding most of the time. Oh, and the women voicing the children in this game are all shrill and annoying. The only decent one was Silfy. Women don't sound like children; just find kids who don't suck at acting FFS. Another tangent: The over-the-top fantasy diversity makes other races feel shallow. It was as if they literally rolled dice for everything, but no matter the race, it's still human-flavored. I don't think any deep thought was given to the bulk of the NPCs (most apparent with the cringey lolrandom names the waste-of-resource Act 3 NPCs have), sometimes even extending to companions.

I know this is probably dumb question, but I installed only DragonbornD5, during character creation it was working fine, but in gameplay itself voice is normal. I dont use other mods to override tav voices. Is there something reqired to get this work?

During journal updates his voice is modded thou
The Durge & Tav 5 share the same pak file.

Voice was far too silent. Any way to increase the volume?

Love this mod. The first thing I tought when clicking play introduction on the dragonborn dark urge in vanilla was how disappointing the voice was. That alone made the character option dis-qualified. You just qualified it for consideration :weeb:
Edit: I realized after some testing that the volume of these voices are something like half the volume of other voices in the game. That makes for a cumbersome mis-match. One either has to choose between having the rest of the game too loud, or not hear what the character is saying. At least with the volume I usually play at. Really cool concept tho :weeb:

It's early work of mine that needs to be improved. There are many more Tav Voices that I've done since then, but I'm thinking everything should be on one page when MODHQ 2.0 is released.

Any chance you can make standalone versions that replace one Tav voice instead of all four of them at the same time? I have a human Tav as my main, but I use a mod which allows me to make custom companions and I make the occasional Dragonborn npc. So, I would like to have one voice changed to use as the Dragonborn/Orc one.
Also, is the known 'bug' where the click and walk command makes the character sound like the original voice still present here?

Not a bug, point & click needs to be disabled due to not being in the same sound bank. It can be done, I just don't know create a pak file that reads the proper folder. Also, you do it's optional to only use Tav 1?
