YouTube needs to be taught a lesson

Post by Rand »

I'm tired of YouTube making the comments malfunction because of their censorious bullshit.
They even threaten you now if their machines detect a comment they dislike.

For example, try leaving a comment with the words Hassan Piker and baseball bat.
As in "I'd pay good money to watch Hassan Piker be beaten unmercifully by someone with a baseball bat for 5 minutes."
Doesn't even have to be in a video with his name in the title. He's just mentioned somewhere in there and so you comment and it's any variation of that and blammo!
It doesn't even make it 15 seconds before it's auto deleted.

Use #@&&0t to call some tranny fuckwit a faggot and the robot'll find it quick and then the YT jannies lose their minds, minimum locking you out of comments for a day.

Or:
Image
and just comment: "rope" and it'll be gone in less than a minute.

And what does this "safe space" for bullshit cost?
Functional comment sections.
The number of times comments refuse to load or they don't all show, or the section gets fucked up with constant loading swirls and broken displays...
This is text on a screen. The EASIEST thing to program other than basic calculations.
And they've tied the functionality up so stupidly it doesn't work properly anymore.

FUCK OFF YOUTUBE.

One of the ways to fix this is to force YouTube to be either a hoster (no liability) or a publisher (liable for content).
Right now, YouTube claims to be the former but is acting like the latter in service of the retard leftoid regime.
If the government had the ability to function themselves, they could force the issue.
Moderate content and be a publisher and pay the price, or fuck off and put words on a screen verbatim and let law enforcement worry about the few real crimes there.

Just noticed that YouTube channels can post videos that are inaccessible to viewers unless they pay a recurring monthly fee specific to that channel

Bitchute
Gab TV

The are alternatives (and more if you look around), and while they are not perfect and may not be as feature rich as Youtube, they are free of censorship (Gab TV censors only what is illegal in the US, and nudity). Problem is, content creators don't go there. They love to whine about Youtube, but they rarely move to other venues. Even when someone gets demonetized, they still hang around Youtube and bitch about it.

The only solution is to move away from them with a continued campaign to encourage people to shift away. Personally, I prefer Gab due to the fact that they have been dealing with the cancel culture for years and ended up completely developing their won independent infrastructure (they do their own hosting, servers, their own payment system (gab pay), their own everything... so they can't be cancelled anymore (outside of a provider and that would violate US Law).

The government isn't a help, they are the problem as it was clear when they were caught colluding with tech companies to implement all this censorship in the first place. Remember, they were recently proven in court to have violated US law, by forcing censorship during an election which is by its definition treason (a recent court case ruled concerning this recently, but like everything was brushed under the table by the media).

The thing is the US government is in a war against its people currently, but most people think it is business as usual.

edit: it looks like they sunset "Gab TV" and integrated it into Gab Social so all access and function is within.

Gab TV in Social

tl;dr We're working on a new Gab TV experience, one that exists directly inside Gab Social, and automatically includes access to all the videos already uploaded to Gab Social. The existing TV application will be sunset later this month.

One of the things that has always bothered us about the current Gab TV is that it is a separate application, isolated from Social. Over the past 2 years, we've had various ideas and worked on several ways to better integrate them, but none of them really clicked for us and made it to production. Social is our core experience, and is responsible for more than 90% of traffic and nearly all revenue. To be completely honest, the current TV application has cost us a fortune to operate and has returned very little. Gab isn't like a Google, where they can afford to run large services at a loss. We want to be better stewards of the amazing support you've given us over the years, and focus on making Social better.

The bad news, which I know will upset some folks, and rightly so, is that the current TV site will be shutting down on July 28th. We will be disabling uploads to the current Gab TV immediately, and provide the next few weeks for people to download any videos they wish to preserve. Unfortunately, we will not be able to automatically migrate the existing TV content to Social.

The good news is that Social will be getting increased video size upload limits, and smarter video processing. You'll be able to post large videos on Social, give them a title and description, and much like Facebook or YouTube, they will be processed in the background before going live. You'll have access to the video feed from all of the people you follow automatically, without a separate channel or subscription process. While it might take a while to adjust, we think this will quickly become a much better experience for everyone, and result in more traffic for video creators. Having everything native to Social will enable us to re-enable direct comments on videos, and improve many other things about the service.

We hope you can understand the decision we've had to make; It wasn't an easy one, but we think it's the right one. Look for the new Gab TV experience to appear soon. :gabby:
Also, another thing is they have Gab Voice, similar to other like services they are working on. Eventually, gab will be completely its own media power house, removed from the touch of woke cancelling.
