In a report obtained by Speed-Daily.com the American toy company
Hasbro is actively seeking to sell its renowned intellectual property,
"Dungeons & Dragons" (DND), with Tencent being one of the potential
buyers.

At this stage, negotiations are in their early phases, and both parties have
yet to reach a consensus on the transaction details.

According to insiders, the financial crisis facing Hasbro is the primary
reason behind their decision to consider selling DND. Tencent-backed
Larian Studios, known for developing "Baldur's Gate 3", which won the
2023 TGA Game of the Year award and is regarded as one of the most
successful adaptations of DND in video games, initially showed interest in
acquiring the property. However, due to financial constraints, Larian
ultimately introduced Tencent as a potential buyer.

Not sure if I should be surprised that the US government is allowing China to buy up everything.

Unsure how true it is, but Hasbro are saying they're not selling it tho?

I can't imagine it would really change much at the ground level. Maybe some cuts for the sake of profitability but it seems asia is getting with the program when it comes to delivering absolutely pozzed content in the west.

Yeah, I'm conflicted about this.
On the one hand, I know corporate executives are lying douchebags, and Hasbro is especially untrustworthy.
It wouldn't surpise me at all if they were tactically denying it for sales targets or production agreements or not freaking out their manufacturers or whatever.
On the other hand, the CCP dinks are also lying douchebags, but I don't see what they would get out of a false story.
I went to the chinese website this originated on and it doesn't look like clickbait.

Indeed. It is a useful weapon for them and they're very aware of the effects here.
They'll pay to fill our entertainment with nogs, then photoshop them out on their end.

As to D&D, it's obviously haemorrhaging money, so hard to say what's truly going on right now. Probably will be sold off at some point at least. They only keep fucking it up and putting people off more and more.
Tencent DOES own 30% stake in Larian too so they've certainly had some exposure to the brand recently..

Do chinks even like D&D? Feel like that's a bit too imaginative for them.

Quite a few actually. As in the tabletop kind. Very social, crafting stuff with painting the chars, and lots of attention from the men. Most are likely fat / smelly though (as with the men).

You would think a Japanese company like Kadokawa would be more interested, since they are a publishing giant and own a majority stake in From Software, which would make great use of the franchise no doubt. If it were to be sold to any Oriental conglomerate, better them than the Chinese. Especially since D&D has a history of being very successful in Japan.

Basically, if you can read Chinese or can access the Chinese translations this will at least be an improvement. Otherwise, same goyslop, except some of the retards at WOTC will probably get fired. Never really played DnD anyways beyond OSRIC.

Huh? D&D-inspired stuff, sure, but Sword World is the D&D of Japan. Seeing as they've had a home-grown version for decades, I don't see what need they have for the D&D IP.

Same as why the commies want it. Prestige.

The current executives would absolutely sell D&D. But they aren't going to do it now. They will want a position of strength, like having a sold out print run of the revised ruleset that ships this year. Or a successful beta of their virtual tabletop.

Depends on whether the chinks would allow it to be sold in China (which I doubt). There's a reason Tiktok shows trooning, faggotry and suicide videos to Western kids, but programming, technology et al to Chinese users.

Then again, if chinks are interested in making money off the IP they might just remove the Marxists from the company.

Tencent got its tendrils in many aspects of western media already, them taking over Troons and Trolls would just be anudda step towards gwailo domination. Someone should really make a comprehensive list of Tencent owned companies so we know to boycott them.

Over the jews? Every single time. Tencent is a megacorp, which is inherently bad, but they also don't want me exterminated or hate my very existence. The jews, troons, and libs who now permeate within our hobbies and interests do. Whining about "muh communists" while getting wiped out within your own system is the biggest goy behavior.

It would be a lateral move a worst. If we're lucky they might move development to china and axe large parts of WOTC. If the translators can be depozzed then we might get a detrooned version of DnD at last.

Doubt they will lose the opportunity to weaponize it against the west.
You'll need to move to China if you want the de-pozzed version.
