Holy shit a Mesoamerican Survival game? Looks interesting.
Sadly I'm sure there'll be some "muh colonization shit" in it.

Mack seemed to like it a lot

I think I might take the dive and buy it soon to see how it is. Seems cool

WAB says it's promising though he only has a few hours in it (and its also in UE5 for some reason)

Apparently they now have non-shitty controls and controller support, I may reevaluate it.

It will still be pretty much a bromance game where you have to play together with your homies on your own server, kinda like Valheim.

And we all know what that means.

planet crafter is fun and chill there's no enemies or anything, pacing seems to be pretty constant in terms of progression.. haven't had many moments where there's nothing to build or work towards, the few times there are moments to wait for the next thing to unlock you can easily spend that time gathering up stuff or exploring. It reminds me of subnautica in a lot of ways and it's neat to see the planet change

Released today, WAB did a 1.0 review
idgi
why would I want to collect resources as a vampire
why are there no combat thralls

it's not even cool resources, it's "go swing at trees with an axe but YOU'RE A VAMPIRE!!!"
?

in other words, it is a walking simulator

Again, it's like Valheim but you play a Vampire instead of a Viking.

I played around with it a bit. The controller support could be worse but could also be better. It is generally playable.

However, what still hasn't changed a year later is that this game leaves me scratching my head why Stunlock Studios, known for best-in-class isometric PvP arena games, does an Open World Survival Crafter. I understand it's the FOTM genre right now but it still seems like an ill fit. A rogue-like like Hades would've been much more logical.

Why is it surprising to you that devs would want to work on a different kind of game instead of doing the same over and over again? Also V Rising has PvP servers as well as far as I know.

I would argue that the motivation behind V rising is money (as in funding) and not so much want.

Is this the dump thread for all games of this type? Separate threads allowed?
Anyway regarding V Rising. I tried the release version. It appears they added nigger mobs and female melee mobs. They are all over the place now. I don't remember them being in pre release version. Anyone know if SWEET BABY was involved in this game?

You may dump anything about this genre in here, but separate threads are also allowed (and encouraged, if you feel there's a game worth focusing on).
