:Looks into the window where all the RPGHQ MMO Chads are all playing games together in front of the fire sipping hot coco:

:Place hand on the window - a single frozen tear on my cheek:

Age of Conan Unchained?
It's apparently not too bad.

Is that the same Age of Conan I played in the early 2000s?

FF14 is mostly a singleplayer game, unless you're doing the Eureka side content.

ESO I've heard people only still play it for the questing, same with LotRO.

Didn't Tera shut down?

I might be down to play as long as it's not some expensive and grindy autism fest.

I really wish there was something worth playing right now, but I don't think there is. It's not an RPG, but I've been playing War Thunder if anyone wants to join me.

Honestly I played both of those when they were new and didn't really care for either one. I've played most MMOs and the only ones I can say were good or close to it were EQ trilogy, DAoC, and Shadowbane.

Mortal Online 2 was really close to being good at launch and it's been a year or so now. I'd be down to play that one if you guys want to try it since i already own it. I'm sure it's changed a lot since I played.

Warhammer online private server just had a reset for the new year. Could get in before the sweaty players get too far ahead

Keeping in the theme of oldie but goodie, City of Heroes private server. Which recently got officially licensed by NCSoft

https://forums.homecomingservers.com/getting-started/

Also double xp on the smaller servers if we just wanted to play with each other. Instead of joining the larger population

Rusty is like a crappy Saturday morning cartoon villain, but instead of trying to trick kids into smoking he tries to fool the HQ into playing terrible MMOs.

CoH is probably the best suggestion so far. I don't understand why it is so popular though. I played it at launch and it was too instanced and too themeparky for me. Didn't feel like a simulated world at all. DCUO was a much better capeshit MMO even if I have the same complaints about it. At least super speed was a crazy fun travel method and the combat was good.

OpenMW multiplayer was pretty fun the last time I played and I'm pretty sure they've updated it quite a lot since then.

How is D&D Online as an MMO? I picked up the expansions when they were free last year, but I've never played it. It looks like they are planning several more updates in 2024.
