This assumes that women actually play video games of this variety, which they rarely do. RPGs and action-adventure fantasy games were made by and for men, so it makes sense why female characters would be portrayed with sexual appeal in mind. We have no business catering to those who don't even play video games.

This is true, however actual women who do play these games (although few) play them and like them BECAUSE they have been designed the way they have (for men), and like them as they are.
It's usually the women who don't play such, or are only doing so to be part of some group, that complain and want them changed.
