Not hyperbole.

I messed up and thought this was the most recent (regular) TLP after Oakwynd. I was wrong.rusty_shackleford wrote: ↑ November 26th, 2023, 18:46@Kalarion @Tweed I'm going to try starting over on the Mischief server if you want to give it a try. It's a TLP server a bit further along. Meh, I'll see how it goes.
I made a beastlord btw.

Surprising that the game is this poorly managed, but then again, not really.

Err... Probably no? At least if it's something different from the usual place I used to visit. U know I'm shtoopid AND illiterate, when it comes to such things.
In any case, I need to buy a new laptop to come and chat proper. When I sit at my desk, my main PC is usually taken up by some sort of work, I need a secondary screen to interact with the denizens.

I need the laptop for other reasons. Additionally, I cannot fit another monitor on my desk in a way that I deem elegant.

Dood. I'm currently on a skype call + whiteboard (Harmonic motion). Even if I open the chat, I wouldn't notice people tagging me, I wouldn't read the inanity and I wouldn't switch windows arounds, because work is a priority.
I need a new laptop for multiple reasons. Chiefly, it acts as my GM screen and I use it for roll20. Roll20 is developed by white-man hating pajeets, which means it's optimized like ass. As soon as I procure a new laptop with a decent amount of vram I'll be back. How do I join the server?

@Kalarion supports this and tries to get other people to help fund it. Spread the word!Once again, Darkpaw Games, as part of Daybreak Games' Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion initiative, has pledged a donation of $5,000 to The San Diego LGBT Community Center

Because the only true alternative, fantasy ground, isn't really up to shape. I tried it and I'm unimpressed. As problematic as roll20 is, it offers a videochat + mapping tool, lighting and GM layer and a pretty hefty storage space all in one. If you add the price tag of fantasy ground on top and the grueling work I'd have to do to migrate what I already have uploaded on roll20 you'll quickly realize it isn't worth it.

There's also Foundry and MapTool.Ratcatcher wrote: ↑ November 30th, 2023, 17:05Because the only true alternative, fantasy ground, isn't really up to shape. I tried it and I'm unimpressed. Those are pure mapping tools. Well, maptool does have a client but it's ancient stuff. Roll20 has dozens of features, like up-to-date character sheets, shared compendiums, easy handouts (both img and docs) and is actively mantained.

Huh? Foundry is being actively developed. As far as I know, it's got all the stuff you mentioned and more. It's far from being a 'pure mapping tool'. As for MapTool, it's a case of getting out what you put in given its high customizability, but it is definitely an acquired taste.Ratcatcher wrote: ↑ November 30th, 2023, 17:38Those are pure mapping tools. Sorry, I must have mistaken it for some other ancient tool I used to be familiar with. I actually didn't know about foundry, will look into it but I'm on the tail end of a 7 years long campaign, it would take an impressive amount of extra features to make me switch atm.
