‘Large’ creature — with 20 arms — found lurking in Antarctic sea. It’s a new species

For some reason, my phone gets "news" updates from this newspaper frequently in my feed and every week they have a new headline about a "new species" that's been found, and they always make it sound like a cryptoid. I guess they are just making AI pictures of weird shit.

Utah man killed by FBI agents after he allegedly made threats against Biden ahead of president’s visit

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/08/09/poli ... index.html
FBI special agents shot and killed a Utah man Wednesday while attempting to arrest him for allegedly making threats against President Joe Biden ahead of the president’s trip to the state.

The man, Craig Robertson, was facing three federal charges, including threats against the president as well as influencing, impeding and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers by threat. Investigators noted that Robertson appears to owns “a sniper rifle” and several other firearms.

Some of the threats happened just ahead of Biden’s planned trip to Utah on Wednesday evening.

“I HEAR BIDEN IS COMING TO UTAH,” one threat read, according to prosecutors. “DIGGING OUT MY OLD GHILLE SUIT AND CLEANING THE DUST OFF THE M24 SNIPER RIFLE. WELCOM, BUFFOON-IN-CHIEF!”
Cool story.
Posting threats I won't act on: that'll show em!

He should've said "in Mincraft" and this wouldn't have happened.

Yes, yes, I'm sure professor Avi Loeb of Harvard University has no ulterior motive in saying that.

Faster Than Can Be Explained – Photonic Time Crystals Could Revolutionize Optics

Image

By De Gruyter September 4, 2023

Researchers have produced photonic time crystals in the near-visible spectrum, potentially revolutionizing light science applications. This breakthrough expands the previously understood range of PTCs, which were only seen in radio waves.

A recent study reveals oscillations in the refractive index that are faster than can be explained by current theories.

A study recently published in the journal Nanophotonics reveals that by rapidly modulating the refractive index – which is the ratio of the speed of electromagnetic radiation in a medium compared to its speed in a vacuum – it’s possible to produce photonic time crystals (PTCs) in the near-visible part of the spectrum.

This looks like the guy on the left of the picture. If he isn't getting paid to do this, he should be getting paid.

There's nothing fishy about this, left is from a time where men were competent, ambitious and mainly white; right is the opposite.

Left was also from a time when governments had a modicum of respect for their citizens and would at least attempt to make decent use of their taxes. Now they view people with utter contempt and squander public funds at every opportunity, seemingly out of pure spite.

They got the perfect Hollywood schtick going on for them, it's like they went out of their way to hand pick actors for that photo shoot. They also claim to support Joe Biden, just for his position on Ukraine.

Abstract

The purpose is to report ocular surface erosion of health personnel who were exposed to evaporated CoronaVac during a vaccination campaign. A campaign for CoronaVac vaccination was conducted in a closed space of 11.04 × 5.96 m, partially divided into 6 rooms with interconnected area among the rooms. A total of 20 health personnel worked in the vaccination rooms. On the third day of campaign, a vial, containing a single dose of 0.5 mL, of the vaccine was dropped accidentally onto the floor and broken by an administering nurse. A total of 15 personnel had symptoms and signs of ocular surface erosion at the average time from the accident to the onset of 10.2 ± 7.1 h; 4 personnel also had skin rash. These personnel included all 13 persons who already worked in the rooms when the accident occurred and continued for additional 4–6 h and 2 personnel who presented in the rooms 1–2 h after the accident and stayed for 2–3 h. Proximity and timing suggest CoronaVac correlation with the ocular and skin reactions. Cautions should be taken to avoid broken vials, spills, and aerosolization of CoronaVac during the vaccination.

Keywords: COVID-19 vaccine, Ocular surface erosion, Skin rash, Health worker, Case report
